Initial plan was to head to Makko for lunch but somehow ended up at Ole Sayand instead. Most of the diners were tourists. Felt that the nonya food here was average and a little pricey, perhaps that is why locals don't dine in here? Saw a group of tourists buying packets of crackers, those that they served as snacks at the start of the meal. Tasted the crackers served on my table, it was very bland, probably one of the worst I have tasted.

We were supposed to walk to Nancy Kitchen from our hotel (Hatten) but it was too hot to walk, so we ended up to this restaurant! Food was horrible beyond words...

PLEASE...DONT GO!

Not an authentic Nyonya restaurant with limited food variety. We tried assam fish, sambal petai ikan bilis, ayam pongteh, and kangkung. Food gravies were VERY VERY salty. Sharifah (one of the waiters there) was very rude and mean to customers. Despite the fact that we were the first to arrive and approximately 15mins before the arrival of a tour group, we were served last to give way for them to serve the tour group first.

We recommend Restaurant Nyonya Makko across the street that serves authentic Nyonya dishes and quality food. And cheaper too!

I visited this restaurant almost every trip to malacca somehow I feel the quality of food dropping each visit.. The tom yam fish we ordered was bland, it's not spicy and sour enough with no fragrant of Asam. Further, cincalok fried egg was ok but has nothing to shout about. I don't think I will revisit again.

We read very good reviews about this place from food bloggers. We thought, why dont we try since we were in Melaka for couple of days. The restaurant seemed pretty authentic in terms of decor and served a menu with famous nyonya dishes. We tried the sambal udang petai, assam fish, duck soup and ladies fingers sambal. Apart from the soup, the rest were all sour. The fish was overpriced for the small jenahak. The prawns were tiny so overall it was just an average taste for nyonya food.
