For dinner, we went to the Portuguese Settlement of Melaka. Firstly, the settlement is very much only a name of the place and don't expect much sightseeing here, although we managed to see a nice sunset from the seaside promenade of this place.
Portuguese Settlement is more popularly known for the many stalls there selling seafood.
We tried Stall No 3, San Juan and ordered their dry curry crab (which we all liked very much), steamed shellfish in garlic and ginger (also a very nice dish with a tangy sourish flavor), baked Portuguese fish (a baked fish with a variety of spices makes this a unique tasting dish), Portuguese eggplant (a grilled dish that made the eggplant crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The last dish we had was Salted Egg Prawns (which all 3 of us didn't like).
Be warned of torts trying to persuade you to try their stalls (I heard there were about 10 similar stalls around).
Hence, the price of the seafood here is very reasonably priced due to the competition around.
