I don't recommended anyone to come to this hotel, this is because, i feel very angry because i had book 2 weeks earlier to get the family room, the booking went well, how ever, after i got there, they are not reserve and giving me the room, the reason is because there are some other customer ( walk in) want to extend their stay at the hotel, it was very frustrating because i have reserved the room. they never offering me the solution and just say if i don't the room and they don't charge me, is hard for me to accept because i can't believe i don't get the room because already book it earlier. i will never come to this hotel again and not recommended anybody to come here. because u never guaranty to get the room if you book. better you search other hotel in melaka.

Room Tip: never book this hotel, never guaranty you will get the room that you book, because it happen to me...

My wife and I decided to take a short trip to Melaka at the last minute and since it was a 3 day weekend, most hotels were booked full. So you can imagine our excitement when we were able to get a room from Booking.com at the Harbour Inn for one night.

Unfortunately, like your local politician, what they claim to be is not exactly what you get. Very dissapointing since it had the potential to be a good budget hotel.

Where do I start? Like most shop lots which had the ambition to be a hotel, you just knew that the infrastructure was shoddy, just like your futsal team's defence. The furniture was tacky the toilet bowl had stains, there was no water heater, and the bleedin' towels looked like rags. Don't get me started on the bed. It was creaking and the pillows were lumpy.

The locks on the door was faulty and it looked like I could break it with one good Ninja cobra strike. The icing on the cake was the picture frame (a pic of the eiffel tower..go figure) had no bottom support and the glass could have easily slid down and decapitate us since it was hung right above our heads. Wow, guillotine = Paris, France. At least management has a sense of humour.

Look, if management is reading this, IT IS humanly possible to Martha Stewart each room at about RM10k each (at the least). Guests would not mind the room to be spartan but we prefer it to be ambiently warm and comfortable. Go google Admiral Cove PD or Tune hotels or even Travelodge since they have good setup with limited budget. And you can still charge cheap. No worries on your bottom line since this is a tourist town so you'll still get the crowd in.

Located in a converted industry building, this hotel features motel-style rooms for basic accommodation. Simple furniture, basic sanitary rooms, but workable. About 2km walking distance to city center along not-so-interesting roads, taxi preferable.
No swimming pool, no restaurant. Go out to the city instead.
Nothing fancy about this place, OK for 1 or 2 nights stay, certainly not for a longer duration or if you expect something romantic.

Room Tip: ground-floor rooms have flimsy door-knob locks plus an equally flimsy additional pad-lock latch. Low...

i just returned from melaka today. stayed 2 nights at the hotel. booked 1 family room with 1 double bed and 1 single bed.

good: cheap,LCD TV (local programmes), free bottled water dispenser (hot and warm) at every floor, free parking but at your own risk (no guard or gate)
bad: far from central (lucky i drove), air con dusty, wall fan clean but too windy even at lowest fan speed.

I stayed here for 4 nights 19th-23rd April. It's a very long walk in stifling heat back to the centre, about 20/25 mins, and another 10mins onto Jonkers Walk area. The #17 bus does run (from the top of the road by the traffic lights) but to no schedule known to mankind: Supposedly half-hourly, but I waited 50 minutes one day; I did need to get back to Melaka Sentral (the coach station) which is north of the city so I'd rather pay 1 ringgit for bas rather than 40 for teksi.

The hotel ONLY takes cash and requires full payment upon check-in + an amount for a deposit. For me that was 500 ringgits (Fri-Tues rates) ... just over £100. I got 76 ringgits back when I checked out (embarrassing not to have it ... nor to have been warned by any of the booking sites that it was a requirement). That's how the bill looks when you leave ... daily amounts deducted from the whole deposited sum; Saturday is always the more expensive night.

The reception staff (a couple of young gangly youths) lack good English ... I ended up doing charades for towels (none in room when I got there) and kettle: ditto absent ... they gave me one which didn't work, so I ended up using the water cooler/heater (combined unit) on my floor (3rd .. the none on 2nd doesn't cool !). There is free wifi in the room which was a godsend: meant I could check-in online for my flight back from KL.

The road the hotel stands on is the main route onto the reclaimed land area ... Pulau Melaka? .. where there is significant new development happening, so it can get noisy & busy with construction traffic and tourist buses (Bas Persarian). Immediately opposite is a fishing lagoon; it stays peaceful (fishermen are a quiet lot) apart from 4 paddle wheels aerating the water.

Room 313 (superior room) was ok, and had a view (sea glimpses they'd call it in Blackpool) of the Malacca Straits. So get a room facing the street & not the rear (boring concrete buildings).

I stayed in a Suite room, 2 king size bed plus 1 single bed. Rooms are very spacious and the toilet is big! Sofa, fridge, LCD TV is another good point of this room. Suitable for family travelling and also for 6-7 friends. it did help you save alot because everyone can stay together in the same room for just RM288. Convenience location, walking distance to restaurants and shopping center. Friendly staffs and clean. I will definitely go back for this hotel again!

Room Tip: Great sea view and spacious room!
