“GREAT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2012

What a find, a true family home to stay with great people. Safe comfortable and clean. Breakfast is brought in with a selection of food. I had inside en suite single room, no windows but that is typical Malaysian style. The garden was lovely and you are invited to sit out there with the rabbits and cats, and the family will join you. I had a great walk with the owner all around the town he pointed out places of interest and it took about 3 hours of his time. The son dropped me off in the car from the night market so kind. It is very central to every where with in safe walking distance. Nice boat ride especially at night when everything is lit up

Room Tip: boat trip along river, up the hill to the grave yard but nice view into the night market

Mum fell in love with it's homeliness and most importantly it's attached bathroom. All of us fell in love with Apa Kaba.

The family that ran the business was kind, helpful and very friendly too. The uncle warmed up to my friends and almost immediately, within minutes they started throwing jokes at each other already.

I don't usually like home lodges so much, because there's always a certain restriction imposed on you. Like how they lock the gates at certain hours, or you're "not allowed" to make too much noise when you're at the lounge. Back then, this was kinda no exception but it did felt safer.

I absolutely love the patio. It’s relaxing. I absolutely love this kind of getaway. Simple but it nourishes the soul. Gives you back perspectives in life, teaches you a lot of patience, and calms you down when you’re running at an ungodly speed.

It’s such a nice place and please pay it a visit should you come down to Melaka :)

I will join the others revieuwers that this guesthouse is very very good. Stayed here for 3 nights and the surrooundings are great. A great place to relax and enjoy the ancient city. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The rooms and showers are good. In the morning who can try some Malaysian breakfast with some tea or coffee.

This guesthouse is fabulous! It is beautifully decorated with bright colors and simple rooms. The family that runs it are great, very personable and willing to help with any questions. Tne place is located so very close, walking distance, to most major attractions in town. Would definitely come back here!

Lovely house and garden (which had a nice place to hang out in) with a great atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff. Kenny went out of his way to be helpful and even made me tea and mended my broken handbag after some guys on a motorbike tried (and failed, luckily!) to snatch it. The rooms are reasonably basic but have a lot of character and are very clean. The breakfast is amazing!! The best breakfast we've ever had in a hostel - they had the normal toast, jam, butter, tea and coffee but also had a range of different Malay foods to try! Location is good and whilst I can see why some people found it difficult to find, our taxi driver knew exactly where it was.

The staff at Apa Kaba is one of the things that make this guesthouse most memorable. They were helpful and engaging. The staff took me on a walking tour around the area and even helped me book a day trip to see turtles and fireflies.

The facility is warm and clean; like staying at a real Malaysian home. The kids loved playing with rabbits and ducks in the garden and my wife and I enjoyed sitting on the veranda drinking tea and reading our iPads.

I want to go back again!

This place is awesome - the location is fab (a mini oasis 10 mins walk from Jonker st), the staff/owners are incredible and the rooms are lovely clean and spacious. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it as the place to stay in Malaka.

Room Tip: They are all good!
