This place is halal so no pork. This can sometimes be a problem for authentic nonya food, especially ngio hiang. The food was basic average at best. Service was also quite impersonal and dry. Forgettable.

We had chap chye, ngoh hiang, otak, buah kaluak chicken, lime juice and chendol. The chap chye was a big disappointment, it was a gluey mass. The ngoh hiang had more flour than ingredients. The otak was more like fish cake. The buah kaluak was the saviour of the bush kaluak chicken (which appeared to be boiled before cooking). Overall a disappointing dinner. Service also haphazard - they served our dinner to the wrong table. The good thing is the chendol and lime juice. If anything, the chendol is worth a second visit.

We had a very pleasant family dinner in this restaurant! The numerous local specialities made us discover plenty of new tastes and flavours. We were extremely satisfied to be able to eat in a local restaurent for they aren't a lot in Malacca. The environment is simple but cozy and traditional. In addition to this, the service is very helpful and friendly and helped us choose good dishes. She spoke a perfect english. Overall, we had a nice time and we would surely like to come again!

If you want authentic Nyonya food whilst in Melaka then Kocik Kitchen is well worth a visit. From the street it looks to be small but there is a much bigger dining area to the rear.
Good authentic interior and very good authentic(I think) food. Friendly helpful service and some delicious food.
All very enjoyable and very tasty.

We went to this restaurant because we couldn't get a table at the Peranakan Restaurant across the road. We were so relieved that we chose this place as it turned out to be a better choice (due to what happened at the Peranakan restaurant). The setting may be small and simple but dont be put off by that because the service was good and the food was very tasty. We ordered capitan chicken, nyonya laksa, snack with chinese name (ngah something) and drinks for a total of RM35 (2 persons), reasonable enough for me considering the location.

The Indonesian lady/waitress was very nice and surprisingly spoke decent english. The lady boss/owner was also courteous. She refunded my money immediately when I highlighted that they had charged me extra. Didnt get to taste the cendol but it sure looked very creamy and appetising.
