The room is big enough for 3 persons, the price with breakfast for 2 is a steal.

Close to shopping arcades & attractions at walking distance.

Definitely best choice over others in Melaka.

Staff is helpful & I can see their rooms are always full.

There are plenty of choices for lunch & dinner around, but some are

I had planned this trip with family and friends as we drove up Malacca. We had prior booking with the hotel to indicate that we need 2 Junior Suite (Twin) that comes with 2 twin beds. We had also informed the hotel and indicated our request, on top of this, we arrived much earlier than the check in time at around 10am plus. So we registered at the hotel counter and once again, informed them and highlighted this request.

When we came back for the check-in, we were told that there were no more Junior Suite (Twin). So we had to bear with the Suite (King). We told them about our occupancy, they just replied that we can add beds at additional cost. But right in the first place, it was the hotel's issue that they didn't keep the rooms for us, why are we asked to pay?

We stayed at the premier rooms and were informed to go to the premier lounge for breakfast but then when we reached there, the staff directed us to go to the dining restaurant. When we reached there, there were no seats... got to go to the ballroom that is opened for breakfast to accommodate the full occupants. Breakfast time was hectic and stressful.

Although hotel is new, there are stains in the hotel room bathroom. the toilet bowl is badly stained and is disgusting to use. the cleaning up department should be more vigilant in this..... hygiene is important..... guests paid this price for this too.....

The swimming pool was nice but terribly small. with so many occupants, i think one can hardly find a place to soak in comfort, not to mention even to swim in it. the sauna is so exposed, directly facing the toilets and bathrooms where everyone can see each other changing or exposed. oh gosh.

No need to mention about the lifts, it was a terrible experience. This is the 1st time where i climbed so many stairs in a hotel. I sweat so much i don't even need to go to a gym to do my exercise. the lifts are not linked to the car park and when i really need the lift to go to the car park, it was a horrendous wait. it was always full and guests are packed like sardines. I had to wait for 10-15mins each time i need to go to my car. What type of lift is this? How can i climb the stairs with all my luggage?

the location is really good as it is within walking distance to attractions but there are also other hotels that are within the vicinity and seems like more are popping up. buck up to stay competitive....

Stayed for a night in junior suite. The room was clean and spacious with a small living room and extra TV. The view to Melaka town was magnificent. King-sized bed and pillows were just ok. The bathroom was very spacious but sadly no bath tub for my son to play with. Although it was packed with guests during school holiday, the hotel managed to handle it quite well. Check-in was fast, and express key-drop during check out once you have made the full payment during check-in time. The hotel was connected via overhead bridge to Dataran Pahlawan. There was a playground at the Hatten Square with reasonable price. My son enjoyed most of time there. Swimming pool was nice but the splash pool for children was rather disappointed. There was also sauna and steam room in the changing room beside the pool which was standard. The negative points for this hotel was no proper allocated car park for hotel guests. There was only shared parking with Dataran Pahlawan shoppers. The breakfast was also rather disappointed. Not much choice and the taste was just ok.

Stayed here with my family for 2 visits to Malacca. Great hotel and rooms. Fantastic location. Accessible to many tourist hangouts in Malacca.

However the service standards did not match up to the standard of the hotel.
Front line staff were passive, lacking priactiveness. Concierge staff with dishonest mentality. Overall mismatch of hotel staff. Could do better with service quality training.

Was staying at Hatten hotel for 2 nights.

First impression was positive. Spacious and hotel was nicely done up.

Room was spacious and bed was comfortable.

Worth a stay. However, with the high volume of guests. Waiting for lifts can be a little frustrating.

Expect huge group of families during school holidays. May not be the best place for quiet getaway.

But location is good for exploration and walking.

Spa services offers reasonable price and very clean and relaxing.

Breakfast suits Asian palate. Along with a variety of western spread, such as bread and muffins.

We spent 5 nights here and found the location ideal for visiting the historic sights and malls.
We had to request a room overlooking the straits which was fine.
Breakfast was not a relaxed affair due to the high occupancy especially at the weekends but the staff were organised. We never had a problem getting a table as there were only 2 of us but there were queues at the weekend for larger groups to be seated.
High occupancy meant that at times we waited 10 to 15 minutes for a lift and when they arrived they were often full.
The hotel offers a good rate but needs to be able to handle the logistics of high occupancy.
The pool was of a good size and had some lovely views of the town.
The spa was very good and well worth a visit.
Overall we had a good time but be prepared for a busy hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor with a view of the town or the straits

Stayed 5 nights in a premier room on the 19th floor having had to be moved from the 21st floor due to the noise from the Marco Polo function rooms and the Alto Sky lounge on the floor above. Rooms are fine, well designed equipped and furnished. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Decent wifi and 17 TV channels several of them in English. Complimentary soft drinks in fridge and also in the premier lounge. Stayed during school holidays when the hotel was very busy full of young families. Had to wait for the lifts although there are six of them though not for very long. Queue to be seated at breakfast with a couple of hundred other people rather like a works canteen rather than an upmarket hotel. There is a wide choice of offerings at breakfast catering mainly to the Asian market which forms the bulk of guest numbers. Nothing particularly inspiring about the breakfasts but the extent of the buffet ensures you can find something edible. Had a la carte dinner at Chatterz restaurant on a Sunday evening when the restaurant was deserted. We had fish and chips, hamburger, and sirloin of steak which were adequate but no more. Service was tediously slow and I wasn't allowed to charge to my room but had to pay upfront which was irritating. I had planned to spend the afternoons leisurely sunbathing by the pool but this proved impossible. There are five sunloungers for a hotel of this size, 700 beds or so which are actually situated on a raised section but actually in the pool. The pool was busy at all times with families. I did not find it a relaxing experience at all staying here and would be loathe to stay here again. Perhaps it was just unfortunate that my stay coincided with the school holidays. Avoid the hotel and indeed Melaka at the weekends when both are very busy indeed

Room Tip: Avoid the premier rooms on the 21st floor. They can be noisy
