This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. And it didn't disappoint me. Location is good, as you will be staying in the 'old melaka town'. Foods are abundant, though you need to look and ask the local where they usually eat. Breakfast is the same everyday (I stayed there for 2 nights) but there's quite alot of choice.

Service is pretty good, I like how the bellboy was pretty helpful to my family. Basically the location and hotel are pretty good. Though, just bear in mind there is no lift.

I love the location of Hotel Puri, That is why i always opt to stay here whenever i come to Malacca.

Deluxe double room is just a normal /standard looking hotel room, you just pay for the ideal location.

Family room is quite good with the small living room feature, it will be better if they provide two queen size bed and one single bed instead of one queen bed and two single.

I recommend you opt for Junior suite if you want a good vacation with your lover. It is worthy and you will feel the real boutique hotel feature. Nice 4 posted bed, nice bathroom feature (a bit small tho)

Breakfast is not bad at all.

I am going to stay in Puri again next month.

Room Tip: You only pay for the good location for Deluxe/standard. If you want to experience the real Puri bout...

The lobby area and the location promoted us to book one night at this hotel and boy was it a mistake. Although it is clean this place is run by management looking to suck your money. Case and point, there is a price list in the room where the extra ammentities are listed and the price next to it.

When I needed one extra towel the front desk noted that I will be charged RM20. This infuriated me and she told me to call house keeping. I did and the guy who answered pretended not to undertand what I was saying. Then he said "no speak English". I called the front desk again and they provided the towel in the end.

The beds were old and felt like I was sleeping on a water bed. Additionally, there are no curtains in the room so in the morning it became a little bright. I have to sleep in absolute darkness so the light coming in ruined it for me in the morning.

The breakfast is nothing to write home about. It was crowded in the monring and it's self service all the way. There were only two people manning the breakfast area - one who took your vouchers and the guy making the omlette.

I suggest you pay a little more if you have to and find somewhere else...seriously.

Had stayed here in June 2009, making this the second stay after 21/2 years.

Booked a family room instead of previous double quad? for a fraction more. Did not regret a bit.

Place just as before, suprisingly, well kept, clean nice boutique hotel. The bathroom, is again one of the cleanest I have encountered. Unlike many hotels, after years of patronage, the rooms, facilities would have come of age, abused, dirty and even dilapidated. Not Hotel Puri, it still maintains the same standards I have known in the past.

Would come again.

Well maintained and beautiful old Baba-house. Service was friendly and the breakfast buffet was suberb with all the fresh tropical fruits. The hotel has nice courtyards and heritage rooms. Higly recommended.

Gem in Jonker Street! The hotel look like a Nonya Babas museum. A pre war old shop house hotel with great location, located just behind jonker street. Quiet and good place. However room furniture and beds seems a little old.

This is one & only hotel that brins back the heritage of Nonya Babas that is located in the historic heart of Malacca and a stne away from Jonker Street (Weekend Night Markets) are present.

Staff there is very warm & friendly. When you walk in, you will feel that the pre-war old houses that has turned into a hotel is totally different from from those high irse 4 or 5 stars hotels. The embience has a homely ground feels and you are like home away from home. Free wifi is also catered for guests.

Good thing is that there are also lots of good eatries and shoppings nearby, not forgetting all the places if interest e.g Stadhuys, Clock Tower, Christ Church & St Pauls Hill, just within walking distance.

Note: When you chartered any trishaw rides, do bargain with the riders & agree upon the fares before you take their rides. This is to avoid any arguments in a later stage.
A word of cautions to all foreign visitors: Kindly ensure that all your passports & white embarkations card are duly stamp dated.

Do enjoy your trip in Malacca & have a blessed trip.

Room Tip: If family staying, it is ideal to get a suite. It is spacious & more room for children to play a...
