We had a wonderful stay at this loft last weekend. Right from the beginning, where we met Christie, her friendliness & warmth really made us feel very comfortable. The location is excellent, just next to Jonker Walk. Love the parking space in the premise, very convenient for us. The house is nice, we love the designs & facilities. It's very comfortable & make us feel very at home. They even offered us complimentary welcome drinks at their cafe, though we didn't manage to redeem it, I felt it was really good service. At night when we met Joe, his friendliness also warmed our hearts. Offered to take us on a short tour around the city the next morning. Told us the history of Melaka through story-telling, I really like his passion for the city & for people.

Perhaps the only downside was that my friends got a few mosquito bites at night, so it affected their sleep a little bit. However, they did have those repellent devices in the house. So I think the owners did try their best to make the loft as good as it can be. Beds are very comfortable.

Overall it was really a great experience! If visiting Melaka again the next time, I will surely go back to this loft! Love it!

If you have a group of adults and kids this may be a good choice. It isn't cheap at RM400 but this can sleep 4 adults and a bunch of young kids. It is a completely fitted out old Melakan house with all amenities, and for Malaysia, amazingly everything works including all the av equipment. Its a very charming place right behind Jonker street at the very beginning of the area. There is a 2 car car park with a squeeze. You can walk to hawker centres only 150m away and you are right in the old Jonker Street area, so everything is well.. just a walk. There is a full kitchen facility, but honestly who needs it with such great food steps away. The owners are the Calanthe Cafe (100m away) - a really fab place for families as they cater for kids and adults. Their specialty is 13 coffees from the 13 states of Malaysia. Super friendly people and if it is mid week you can be assured of a very late check out. And Melaka ... what is left to be said?? Wonderful. You really need a few days to enjoy the town, but do go mid week for a less frenetic experience.

Room Tip: Do not go to Melaka on a holiday or a weekend. Go mid week and you will really get the vibe of the place.

Just glance through the travelers reviews page and you see nothing but sky-high praises for this lodging. We took this place by chance and it was a great choice no doubt. Christie, the lady boss showed us great hospitality from the Start and we were so pleasantly surprised by the great details she took to take care of her guests. There's a front porch and you can tell it's inspired from Taiwanese-guest houses, with unique furniture, colorful table cloths with modern amenities. For someone very very picky of her accommodation, I' really was glad I stayed here. The kitchen was also so we'll-furnished with food stuffs, that you don't even need to head out to buy anything. Everything you need in a home is there! Plates, cups, packets of sugar, clean glasses, new table cloths, scissors, knives. Air con is guaranteed new and strong, they even had a first aid kit, mosquito coils, repellents, freshly laundered towels, hair dryer... Head up to the bedroom and you will see two 4 poster beds with clean bed sheets. Before we left for home, they helped us to arrange a cab and came down personally to send us off. This is a pair of really smart and hospitable home owners, knowing how to make their lodging stand out versus competitors. We had a great stay at their place and as compared to another place I've been, it deserves the #1 lodging! Thank you joe and Christie!!!! - nah

It is the first time to visit Melaka, but will never been the last .Although just spent 1 day in Melaka, the Calanthe is so funtasitic and has already been considered as our home there. The rooms were beautiful decorated by the artists couple who are good taste and famous in the town .They are also very nice and friendly .Special thanks Mr Wong ,who could be our free tour guide in Melaka ,and told us many historical stories , which made our trip not only spent in eat and shopping, but also learned much about the world heritage there. Wish I could be a scholar & guardian for the heritage just as the couple. Wish be there again。
