Stayed here in July 2013 to celebrate a special occasion. Great location by the Melaka river and just 10 mins walk to famous historical attractions (i.e. Stadhyus, museums, etc.) and Jonker Walk.

Pros: great location, clean rooms, good service.
Cons: parking problems, can get very pack during peak season.

The hotel is in the heart of the Malacca Heritage Centre. We were within walking distance to Chinatown, Little India, The Dataran Pahlawan Megamall, Makhota Parade and many more. We never drove when we vacationed in there for 3 Days and 2 Nights. To us this was a SP to be noted.
The accommodation was decent. We got 2 connecting Premium Queen/River View rooms inclu breakfast. We had a small balcony to chill while looking out at the river and the many other tourists. Something that I found worth highlighting was their housekeeping. They were fast in bringing in our extra bed along with the extra towel and toiletries. I know this sounds minute but in some hotels I have been to, we had to call housekeeping several times before the extra towel or pillow or something comes in after the extra bed. The concierge was good and also was fast to inform us that my breakfast coupon does not indicate the extra bed (each coupon was for 2 pax) and advised us to bring it down when we leave our room later that day.

We also realized on our last day that the hotel had strollers for loan. I am not sure if guest are charged for the strollers but it is def a enticing service for guests who travel with children. Too bad that they did not alert us about the service as we had 2 toddlers and would have used the service.

like what most of the reviewers mentioned, the rooms are not soundproof but I can let that slide given the other good pointers of the hotel.

The breakfast was also decent not too bad or too good.

The only major downside: parking. We were lucky to have made in the morning as such we used one of the reserved lots (by hotel) in the public car park. But we met another guest who had a parking fine as they parked the car outside the hotel without a coupon. The guest appeared annoyed as she was not aware that she would need to pay for the parking though it was reserved by the hotel.

Room Tip: Get river facing room on the second floor.

Let's start with the good things!
The location of this hotel is superb! You can walk to many places from this hotel. But, it came with a price. The room was not soundproof, so be ready for the noise that comes with it!
The room was big and spacious and the bed was comfy after a day long walks.

Now, the things to improve!
The service!!! The receptionist was so unfriendly. The check-in time was 14:00, but when we came to check-in, she told us..."The room is not ready". After waiting, for 10 minutes or so, we asked her again, and the same answered given..plus the annoying face and not even looked at you (she seems very busy with her work). Even after, you showed your unhappiness, she was still persistent with her statement..."Your room is not ready". Fortunately, another friendly employee happened to be there. Only with one phone call, and VOILA....the room was ready!

With all the positive things about Quayside, I really hope the hotel can improve its service (or at least....hire a "friendly" person as a receptionist).

Room Tip: Book a room that face the river and not the street!

I just planned to stay here with bestie for unplanned trip. Check in on Friday evening and check out the next day. Good customer service and helpful butler because we need to park our car and the road side.

We were amazed by the scenery from our balcony. The beutiful riverside panorama. Day and night. Both are stunning.

The hotel room is clean. I mean, super clean maybe this hotel is new. Modern bathroom. And the best thingis free wifi, exactly! We sleep like sleeping beauty coz it is really comfy, quiet and peaceful eventhough we stayed up until 3am that day.

Will come again soon!

The hotel though have small rooms but good enough for small families or couples
There's also connecting room if you travel with large pax. The staffs were very helpful. Kudos to vino and azizul who made my journey to malacca a pleasant one.

If you expect hotels with many class, book other expensive hotels. Don't give unnecessary comments. This hotel is indeed a real value for your money.

They boast a "Trip Advisor" sticker at the door. But that's all there is to it. They are a new hotel and they need to do so much more to deserve a good review.

Pros:
1. Good location
2. Nice lamp on the table
3. Acceptable when room is clean.

Cons:
1. Breakfast is terrible, you feel like you are eating army camp food.
2. Service is slow. Messed up our booking.
3. Room was not ready when we checked in. Have to change to another room.
3. Extra charge for towels (never heard of this in all my travel experience)
4. Check-in and check-out very slow.
5. Insanely noisy because its just beside the road. Bring ear plugs.
