Malacca is certainly worth seeing, so you'll no doubt do Jonker Street. The trishaws outside the Hardrock Cafe at the river end are truly extravagant. The much hyped night market is mostly trinkets, with a few food hawkers mixed in. We much preferred other parts of China Town, especially Harmony Street--there is an excellent local artist shop just by the Chinese temple and the last place making shoes for bound feet just after the temple.

Come during the weekends when the night market is on and the streets fill with stalls selling cheap food & souvenirs. On weekdays it's extremely quiet at night.

You'll never go hungry coz every few steps there's either a restaurant or snack stall. Plenty of award winning food.

The street atmosphere here is lively and bustling with people and traffic moving at snail pace. Restaurants, trendy bistros, cafes and bars entice tourists and visitors with an array of food choices and refreshments. On weekends the night bazaar of Jonker Walk turn the street into a carnival like place and there's singing and culture performances on the stage erected at one end of the street.
If anything else, walking through this street is a must.

Jonker street is one place that you definitely have to visit when you are at mallaca. Every saturday-sunday there will be night market started at 6 pm. Food, drinks, clothes, toys, souvenir, etc... taste the best rice ball n hainan chicken, durian puff n pastry, bacang, shop for souvenir at very reasonable price at jonker gallery and take the tour around with becak. Most famous places can be reach by foot or bike ^-^

Went for a 1 Day trip with Family to have some family time. Jonker Street is one of the well known attractions in Malacca that must be visit especially during Friday & Saturday as night time there is a long street of night market which sells various kind of food, fashions and handcrafts. Negotiate for a better price is also possible if you feel the items it is overpriced. It may be crowded but it worth walking at the Jonker street. It's also near to other attraction such as the red house. At the day time Jonker street is also available just the variety of shops/stalls might not be as much as the night time.
