The Jonker Street is a very nice street with cafes, restaurants, temples and lots of shopping opportunities. There is a night market which gets extremely busy but yet remains cosy because it's rather small. Besides the stalls on the street where they sell very nice handicrafts, souvenirs etc, there are also "proper" shops which are a nice break from the mass of people and the heat. The shops also have a variety of unique pieces (bags, clothes, furniture etc.).
