“Narrow street”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

Nothing much here. There is an peranakan museum but there are better ones in Penang and Singapore. The area itself is narrow and congested. It is also very hot and humid in the afternoon. Better to go in the evening. Try the Chendol at the big store near the Dutch centre. Its good for a hot day.
One visit is more than sufficient. And it is just to say that you have been there.

“A typical tourist area”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

It was a typical trip along a busy street filled in tourist shops. Worth it for a short while . It closes early during the week.

“Good snacks and juice”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

This busy street is a "must do" in all the guidebooks. Although there were some antique stores and a minor temple, most of the shops just sold junk. Some well-known restaurants, usually busy.

Crowded, noisy, and hot in the middle of the day. Go and get it over with, then move on to other more interesting attractions.

I did have some nice pastry made with durian as I walked along. And later stopped for some mango juice with sour plum. Both were excellent.

Coming here for the food is OK, but just to stroll and shop, it's a waste of time.

“Night market all the way!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

I couldn't get enough of the night market: bustling, weird and wonderful food and drinks, cheap trendy cloths, street performers, henna tattoos.

There is a stall selling Yogurt Ice-cream which has different flavours at RM3. This egg shaped ice-cream attracts lots of people.
