The traditional houses and buildings are well preserved along this street, the centre of ancient Chinese area, in Melala. You can feel the histroical atmosphere and see the beauty of traditional houses when you walk slowly. Time is kept still here. However, you can find it very interesting and amused when you visit its night market on every Fri to Sun night . Full of various kind of local delicious food, interesting and creative things for you to buy. It is not only for tourist but really local people come here to have fun Yes, lots of fun awaiting for you!!

Jonker Street or better known as Jonker Walk becomes a pedestrian mall on weekends when the sun sets. A street mall full of bustling activity. A widen variety of food and momentoes sre being sold. Do not miss this when you come to Melaka. Come during the weekends. Enjoy yourself.

We enjoyed Jonker Street! Definitely take a look if you are in the area. We had some fantastic food from some of the street stalls. Some chinese ladies selling their traditional sweets were really nice and let us sample some things for free. It was an interesting place. Unfortunately we were there on a week day so we missed the night markets. The best thing about this place is definitely the food as the shops are a bit touristy. It seems like it is a bit more lively on the weekends so I would recommend going then.

Much quieter than we expected and many of the shops were very same same. One shop keeper was particularly rude when we decided we did not want to go into her shop. Food off Jonker St much cheaper and less touristy

The food options around the place are incredible. The atmosphere is quite great and very relaxing. I love the desserts.
