My friend and I had made other plans while in Melaka, but after being approached by Ajit, the owner himself, at the bus station who gave us a free ride to his place, we knew it would be a great idea to change up the plans. The place was great! Always clean and friendly staff. They were always helpful and Ajit was the best, he actually drove us to a couple interesting spots and ate with us. Really personable and very knowledgeable. Lovely living room, very comfortable and homey. Full kitchen, with breakfast included. Two eggs, which you cook yourself since Ajit got tired of people complaining how he cooked eggs, toast, butter and jam, and fresh melon. Melon ran out once, but we just went down earlier the next morning. The rooms have very thin curtains, so you'll wake with the sun, but it's quiet and when it was dark, there's no problem sleeping. Amazing location! Right across the street from China town and a lot of historical sites, malls (actually caught a movie in one), super markets, and the weekend market is literally outside the hostel. Overall, great experience.

I was single women traveller from asia. When I travel, I always think cleaness is important. Here is everything clean. Bed, floor, bathroom, kitchen are clean. In my case a little uncomportable to use toilet. Bathroom a little small. But here staff were nice and very kind. When i have trouble with bus ticket, they helped me and I could save my time and energy.
And location also good. It is enough to walk around.

i found out about this place after I was stopped by a guy in bus station who asked me if was looking for a place to stay. This guy, working for Ajit Guest House was kind of a friendly tout, but a very honest one at that. He showed me how ti get ti the guest house by bus, and when i arrived the guest house even refunded my RM1.50 bus fare.

The downstairs living and kitchen area is very warm and welcoming, with Japanese style wooden floors (shoes off). The dorm where I stayed is big enough to have single beds rather than bunks.(In K.L I stayed in places where dorm rooms were tiny and cramped, no such thing here.

Noticeably, the staff are always around on hand if you need any help at all, or just want to ask something. This doesn't happen in a lot of places..

Great location also, next to all of Melakka's historic sights.

Ajit guest house was the best thing that happened to us in Melaka. The owner is a great guy, allways trying to make your stay there as comfortable as possible. There is a kitchen, and you get to make your own breakfast, witch was great, kind of felt like home. Since there is not all that much to do in Melaka, you can stay and watch a movie in a common room. There is a number of movies to choose from. And also many sports programmes to suit anybody.
The rooms are nice and clean and you have different price range.
Hope you enjoy as much as we did...
