Stayed at The Battle House Hotel for two nights while moving our daughter in at South Alabama. This was our first stay in the downtown area of Mobile and we were pleasantly surprised. The Battle House was our first stop and check in was easy. Beautiful lobby. Room on the fourth floor was very comfortable and clean. We had an issue with our TV but this was addressed in 15 minutes. Kept our beverages cold in the provided refrigerator. We arrived on Friday night and were able to park on the street within a block from the hotel every time we left and returned, valet was not needed on the weekend and no charge for street parking. The area around The Battle House was safe and we enjoyed Wentzells for dinner, Panini Petes for lunch and Sardas for breakfast and coffee. Lots of bars including Biergarten within walking distance. We will return as often as possible. The view from the 8th floor terrace is very nice but you have to ask for a pass key to get to it.

The reception was excellent. From the bellman, auto valet to the front desk every step was covered and perfectly executed. The lobby is wonderful and offers a promise of an exceptional stay. You will want to linger a few moments to soak in the elegance and feel yourself transported for a moment to another time. And then comes the smile on the desk clerk. A perfect exclamation point to your arrival. The bellman went about his work and whisked away the luggage without any fanfare or fuss. The room was large, comfortable and with the exception of the wall placement of the Television, a minor issue, the room was beautifully laid out giving both the bedroom and the living area a very distinct place and nice feeling of separation. The street noise was minimal and the lighting for the room was good. Despite being an historic hotel there were plenty of places to plug in and charge all of the usual gadgets we carry today. The internet was adequate and the work space was fine to meet typical modern work requirements. I will look for an excuse to return as soon as possible!

Room Tip: Schedule the delivery of your valet car as you hand it over for parking.

Stayed at the BHR along with three business colleagues. All of us agreed that this was an excellent hotel all round. The staff deserve the highest praise. All were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Service was delivered with a huge smile. Special mention should be made of Leigh of the Trellis Restaurant with whom we had much humorous banter. She introduced us to Chef Wade (hope I've got your name correct) as a result of some too-ing and fro-ing over the proper way to confit duck (and which part of the bird is best). Wade very kindly produced his signature confit dish for us which was indeed delicious and is highly recommended.

Well done to all of the BHR staff and management. We will certainly be back.

I was excited to read that you and your business colleagues enjoyed your visit to the Battle House Hotel & Spa. Thank you for mentioning some of the hotel's Beverage and Food Team! I will definately share your comments with them. I hope that you and Chef Wade were able to come to a conclusion on the best way to confit duck.

I look forward to your return visit.

Consistency is the key to repeat customers and we have always found you can count on it at The Battle House which is why we come back each year on our annual trek to Florida. The staff could not be more attentive to the customers. We always arrive late and the valet is always by the door ready to help unload and park your car. This trip we needed the extra roll-a-way and I called early in the day to make the request. Even though it was after 11PM and the hotel was full to bursting, the staff found a bed for our grandson! And the beds - comfortable, plenty of pillows and quiet. A great place to unwind from the road and refresh for the last leg of our journey. Until next year!

The Battle House Hotel is situated close to the Convention centre in downtown Mobile. Excellent location to explore the new revitalised area with its quaint shops, bars and restaurants. The room was HUGE and the highlight for me was a free standing shower with glass enclosure! Lots of closet space - super quiet room in spite of being on the main street. Friendly and very helpful staff. The receptionists were cheerful and friendly while the doorman needs to pay some attention to the guests. Overall it wss a wonderful stay and looking forward to my visit in September :) - especially for the great breakfast and the best toasted cheese sandwich at the Joe Cain café!

My wife and I stayed one night Aug. 1, 2014 while attending a Kiwanis convention at the Battle House Hotel. We found the room to be clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and efficient. We had breakfast in the Trellis room, which we enjoyed. The selection was good, and the pancakes I had were good and such a large stack that I could only eat half of them. We had lunch as a group at the convention, and the Battle House provided a good meal to around 150 people. We had a group rate for the convention that included valet parking, and I thought we got a very good value for our stay.

Amazing place. We were here for a conference and were lucky enough to be assigned this hotel. It is elegant, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the water. The bed was heavenly, the room spotless, the service was impeccable from the valet to the staff in the concierge room. The rooftop patio was beautiful. The rooftop pool was wonderful, large and clean! We did wish it was open longer because we had very busy days and it was hard to get much time in before it was closed. We were treated like rockstars and we are definitely NOT! Rates were great....stay here if you ever in Mobile. Oh yes, free wifi...yep, FREE.
