“Impressive”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

The grounds were very nice to walk around with plenty of information by the statues and signs identifying the significance of the trees etc. The buildings in the area were beautiful and the overall area was well taken care of.

“Great bit of History”
Reviewed 1 May 2014 via mobile

Me and my husband have seen a few state capitols lately (actually by accident!) and the Alabama one was very lovely. The lady on the information desk helped us with a map and some hints on where to start and then a nice man told us the history of the Alabama seal.
It's quite small but has a grand interior feel and good views down the street. It's defiantly worth a look if you are in Montgomery because it's free and everyone is friendly!

“Heart of the South”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

A very beautiful capitol building. Three floors and plenty to see. So much history here. The House and Senate meet across the street but their former wings are preserved. The grounds are a worthy stroll as well. Do not miss the star outside the front door marking where Jefferson Davis was sworn in as President of the Confederacy.

“Historic Building”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

We got a free parking pass from the Tourist building at the old train station - parked right outside the building. Nice self guided tour of the building. The guide by security demonstrated the way sound moved around the room. Be sure to ask about that.

“Needs Updating”
Reviewed 12 April 2014

You can enter the building from the side entrance where the gift store is located. You'll have to pass through security and then you will be given a sheet with points of interest. The interior of the building looks like it has seen better days; could use some sprucing up and more services dedicated to visitors.
