Owner description: Grave sites of Hank Williams, Sr., and his wife in the Oakwood Cemetery Annex.
Reviewed 20 September 2012

Any Hank Williams fan, if traveling thru Montgomery needs to stop and pay some respect to this legend. It's a nice cemetery and Hank and his wife Audrey's gravestie are at the top.A Hank Williams sign is at the cemetery entrance. You can't miss the huge stones. Funky indoor/outdoor carpet surround the graves. This was my second visit. If your in the area, come see some country music history.

Interesting to see. Beautiful site. Not too far down the road is MLK Jrs home. Look on the backs of the tombs also. They have inscriptions that will melt your heart. Great history. Great family.

Stop by and drink a beer with Hank at his memorial grave. Be sure to cruise the rest of the cemetery to see many old monuments and war graves. Very interesting cemetery. No cost and worth a few hours visit.

It's not beautiful by any means but it is very interesting to see. It is the only gravesite that I have ever seen with AstroTurf! The French and English military buried right next to them was beautiful. I went in August so the plants they have planted around the military stones were gorgeous. Very well kept military gravesite. The dedications on the back of Hank and Audrey's stones brought me to tears. Very touching.

If you like visiting cemeteries, put this one on your "must see" list.

It's a short drive from the Hank Williams museum, so it's a nice follow-up to a museum visit.

It was raining during our visit, so we couldn't get out of the car to really experience the memorial up close. Fortunately, you can easily take pictures from your vehicle, since the memorial sits directly on the trail.

Audrey's inscription reads "Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight". Hank's reads "Praise the Lord - I saw the light". The artwork is quite nice.

The cemetery itself is large (140 acres) and worth exploring. As other reviewers here have mentioned, there are some really historic and remarkable things to see here. We're looking forward to visiting again so we can see some things that the weather forced us to forego the first time.
