“Poor quality”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014

The night clerk was extremely rude, only the night window was open. The room was clean but badly in need of repair in various areas. The breakfast selections were very limited and not very well stocked. The morning clerk was a little friendlier than the night man but still not up to good customer service.

This has to be the worst Econo Lodge in Alabama. To say it is a dump would be an insult to all of the hard working sanitation workers in America.
The first room they gave me was filthy! The bathroom ceilings were falling down. The towels had not been changes in a LOOOONG time! They had caught the crap that had dripped from the ceiling and were molding. The floors had not been vacuumed. The A/C did not blow cold. On and on I could go!
The second room they gave me was just a little better. The ceiling was not falling in. The floors had not been vacuumed - there was food crumbs on the carpet. I don't know if they have clean towels - THERE WERE NO TOWELS! They vacuumed the floor and promised fresh towels. I left for my appointment and came back at 10:00 pm. (4 hours later) THE DOOR WAS OPEN - AND STILL NO TOWELS!!
Glad I took my belongings with me!. Go to complain (and try to get a refund) and the owner-manager-person in charge was gone. "He will back at 12:00" was all I got.
I am now across the street in a very nice Days Inn, looking forward to a good nights sleep. If I do not get a refund from Econo - I will make it my lifes work to tell the world about this [--].

Room Tip: Find a different hotel - do not book a room here!

This hotel is not bad considering what you pay. It is not the best, but not the worst. Rooms were clean except the shower head. The shower head had black mold all over it. The pool was very small. Other than that there were no real problems.

Rooms have a Micro/Fridge in them.

Room Tip: All rooms are pretty much the same. I enjoy the ground floor because it is easier to get in and out...

At only $55 a night, it was priced attractively, but you get what you pay for. The room, while clean, was dated and in need of repair (damage to walls, leaky toilet, poor quality image on old TV, non functional light fixture). Water pressure and temperature in the shower was below average. Room lacked many basic amenities such as alarm clock, coffee maker, stationary and toiletries. Service was poor, I had to wait 10 minutes to get a receipt printed upon check out, this after twice going into the lobby to find it manned by a 5 year old who promised to go find her mommy for me. The location is less than stellar, as it is far from both downtown and from the Air Force base, and while I did not experience any security problems, did not feel especially safe.

I have never written a review before, however I felt this time it was necessary to share our visit with others. We had booked this hotel on-line because another family member had stayed there a few years back and recommended it due to its good price and experience. However something has apparently changed over the last few years. We arrived very late at night with 3 young children and other family member traveling with us. We were originally told all 3 rooms would be next to each other on the first floor. This was not the case and all rooms were in different areas. Very hard to communicate with the people working there as English did not appear to be their primary language. Rooms did not appear very safe as you entered all rooms from the outside. Rooms were very dirty. Floors in bathroom gritty, tub dirty, coffee pot obviously not cleaned. We checked with other family in different rooms and comments were the same. We all discussed leaving, however due to the late evening decided it would be too hard to find alternative rooms that late at night and we only needed some sleep. The breakfast in the morning was a complete joke (a few thawed out donuts and severely watered down juice). Also we asked for a receipt for our room when we checked in and we were told they would give it to us when we checked out the next day. Even though the room was a great price, I guess you really do get what you pay for! Next time we will gladly pay double to stay somewhere else.

We paid around $55 for each night, and i can say it was one of the worst motel stays i've ever had, first of all it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. the beds were missing blankets and when i went to go take a shower i had discovered the shower doesn't even work. What makes it more unbearable when i went to use the towel i discovered lipstick marks and hair all over the towel!! Their so called " Continental Breakfast is danishes and cereal, you're lucky if you can even get milk to go with your cereal. Dont stay here!

Booked online. Wanted a budget hotel, and this was priced right ($50 for room with 2 double beds). We were very pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was. Updated rooms, very clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Good continental breakfast in the a.m.

Only drawback was other guests who were very loud as they were packing out in the morning (before 6:00 a.m.).

We were driving to Florida, and this hotel was conveniently located just south of Montgomery along highway 231 (Troy Hwy).
