Sinclair's in Cloverdale is a remodeled Sinclair's service station in a quaint historical neighborhood. It is a cafe with seating at tables and booths adjacent to a relatively small bar area as well on a front patio. The menu contains numerous appetizers, salads, sandwiches, combos, entrees, and desserts, a nice collection of a variety of items, especially salads. Sunday brunch includes several egg dishes. All in all, the food is good. I particularly like the hamburgers, club sandwiches, salads, and Sunday brunch items, but there a number of other items I choose from time-to-time. The dinner menu contains the most popular entrees. Ones of my favorites is the Shrimp Athenian. Service is generally good, but waiters can get busy and service will fall off occasionally. I have one concern, however, that has built over time. To begin with, the decor is dark -- black tables and chairs with chrome and dark carpet, but it sets a bistro atmosphere and is comfortable. The cafe is beginning to look worn, however, especially the carpet. More, the dark carpet looks dirty, and to me, it is beginning to detract from the appeal of the cafe. I wish the owners would step back, look at their dinning area, and do some sprucing up. Sinclair's has for years been one of my favorite cafes in Montgomery, but I'm becoming concerned, not enough yet not to patronize.
