“Best Value in Montgomery”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

I love this hotel and stay there whenever I'm in Montgomery. It's an old hotel that's been modernized with the latest décor while still maintaining the eloquence of the past. The rooms are always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great with wonderful top notch restaurants and nightlife right around the corner. The hotel is also right next to the Hank Williams Museum and the Montgomery Biscuits minor league baseball stadium is maybe two blocks away. The parking lot is extremely small, but the valet is only $10.00. (You can also park on the street for free between 5pm to 8am.) Try it, you won't be disappointed.

We ended up with a room that we did not book because they messed up. Did not receive a phone call. Didn't know we had a different room till we opened the door to the room. Was told they messed up and there was nothing they could do. So we made it work. We booked a double bed and got a king with a full couch pull out that had a mattress with nothing but springs in it. I went back down stairs to ask for pads. A very nice lady named Ramona brought us 2 pads and said if we needed any more just come back down and ask. So, my wife and her friend went back down and asked for another one and the Sales Director (Sand Curry) told them obviously we can't make you happy so maybe we should move you to another motel. We were with a Middle School Showchoir and could not go to another Hotel. We were not the only ones who were disrespected. They did not care how we felt whatsoever. Their attitude was just get over it. They did not care and never tried to make us happy in anyway. Will NEVER stay there again!

Room Tip: Stay at the Embassy Suites!

We were very excited when we saw our King Suite rooms because the price was so reasonable for a room of that size and quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for our conference across the street. At first, we were disappointed that we had not been able to get a room at the conference center, but by the end of the trip, we were very glad because your hotel was so great. Nothing negative to say and I will be coming back.

We got caught in the infamous 2014 Ice Storm and ended up pulling off the freeway and into this Hampton Inn. Ohmigosh! All personnel, and I mean ALL personnel, were friendly and doing everything they could to make this a great stay. The room was very up to date, even though this is a historic building, and was immaculate. The architecture in the entire building was beautiful. But the staff....so very nice. We ended up being stranded at the hotel for 2 days while the city waited for the ice to melt and the roads to be open. Not only did we get great breakfasts just like you'd normally get, the staff found one brave person to locate pizza, hot dogs, beans and chips for an afternoon treat - especially appreciated by us since every place within walking distance was closed, as well as the roads being closed. Much of the staff ended up spending a couple days straight due to the outside conditions, but they remained pleasant and helpful throughout, when I know they'd have rather been at home with their families. There were guests with small children riding out the storm, and again the staff was observed to attempt to bend over backwards to make their stay more comfortable and easy. This is a great hotel, with superb management. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for a family reunion being held next door in the Hank Williams Museum meeting room. This hotel is right downtown in an old building but they did a good job making it into a nicely appointed hotel. Our room was large with a sitting area, comfortable bed, mini bar with frig and nice appointments. It was very a contemporary sleek furnished room. Breakfast was good. It is an easy walking distance to the big conference center hotel across the street and just a few blocks to the upscale river front area which has a paddle wheel boat ride, concerts and nice river walks. Parking is a premium. If you are lucky to get one of the few in the back parking lot, that's great. If not there is a flat city lot across the street. There is only one elevator, but it works well and everyone is courteous. Don't miss the Hank Williams museum and many other Civil Rights Museums close by.

Room Tip: All rooms must be about the same. Views will be of other downtown buildings. You can unload your l...

This hotel is right in the heart of downtown and across from a large hotel where a yearly conference is held. This area also serves the MPAC (concert facility). Staff was friendly and very helpful. Good rates and I really like the feel of the hotel which was renovated from an old classic building. Breakfast was good. Would recommend to anyone visiting the downtown Montgomery area.
