If you want a good meal at a great price with a good atmosphere, then this is your place. I've been eating breakfast here regularly for a number of years.

Two or three years ago, it would have been an easy 5 stars, but it has declined a little bit lately. The food isn't quite as good as it used to be. Hopefully it will turn around soon.

The service is always top-notch.

A good meat and three in historic downtown Northport. Be prepared to wait 5-10 minutes for a table at lunch. Food is pretty good, especially vegetables. The breaded pork cutlet just about covers your plate. The country fried steak was a disappointment, however. It was what is commonly called "mystery meat."

Have not been here in years. Stopped by for lunch. Same scenario.... you just walk in and you are automatically in a que for a table. The first person in that line waits until someone leaves, then instantly sits at that table. The waitress comes and cleans the used dishes off the table and takes your order. Love it! Everything there is great, except for the chicken and dressing. This dish is almost all dressing with a couple small slivers of chicken mixed in. You have to look real close to find that chicken. But everything else is wonderful! They have daily specials, also. Everyone should eat here at least once.... oh by the way... they only open Monday through Friday from about 4 AM until 2:30 PM. Get in line. It's worth it!

City cafe has been a favorite of mine for 35 years. Sadly, the new co-owner, Gin, has had a negative impact on the quality of the food as well as the service. We arrived at the beginning of the lunch service and received pencil thin, day old, catfish, and beef stew that looked liked canned dog food and had an ood flavor to it. We were told in a very rude manner that it tasted fine and we were stuck with it. I was in disbelief at how rude the owner was about it. Apparently, that's just how she is, as an employee who has worked there for as long as i can remember said "You think that's bad? try working fire it. "
Thankfully, Mr. Bills is just a few short blocks away.

This is a greasy spoon in the best way. The biscuits are excellent and the food is prepared well. I’d recommend this place to anyone in Tuscaloosa looking for a good breakfast.
