My husband and I and a friend of ours took our 4 children to Orange Beach for a 5 day vacation in September and stayed at Summer House on Romar Beach, 1201 B. The condo was on the 12th floor with an amazing view! This is a corner unit, so there is a wrap around balcony with doors opening to the balcony from all 3 bedrooms and the living room! It was nicely decorated and had a wonderfully appointed kitchen! It is a short walk to the beach and the pool area is really nice. There are two round pools that are 3.9 feet deep around the edges and they get deeper as you walk to the middle, with the middle at around 5 feet deep. There is a separate building located at the entrance of the parking lot with an indoor pool and a HUGE hot tub (you can actually swim in it!). The indoor pool is 3-5 feet deep. This building also includes a gym and there is a playground for the little ones outside. There are two grills out front that we used and enjoyed. Check in and check out was easy. We decided to stay an extra night and that went smoothly as well. There are souvenir stores just across the street and Wal-Mart and Winn-Dixie are a very short drive away (you could actually walk if necessary). Publix is close as well as several restaurants. There are also a few specialty stores within walking distance that sell art, jewelry, clothing, etc...
We stayed during off-season (fall), so we got a nice discount on the room (almost half off the summer rates!). There was painting and repairs being done to the outside of the condo, which was a bit annoying, but I guess that's the small inconvenience that goes along with the nice discount. It wasn't too much trouble anyway. The only other negative is that I didn't find the beds very comfortable. No one else seemed to have complaints about it and I am a little picky about beds and pillows, so maybe it was just me.
Overall, I loved this condo! I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to you!
