This was our second trip to Perdido Beach Resort and both trips were exactly what we were wanting. A hotel that wasn't covered in kids (there were some there, just not overwhelmed with them), a nice quiet atmosphere, and access to the beach. This is a really nice place to get away for the weekend or spend a nice leisurely vacation. The restaurant in the hotel (Voyagers) is awesome. It has the best bang for the buck of anywhere we ate over the 5 days. Extremely classy place and impeccable service. Definitely a must to take your spouse to. The rooms were very clean, view was great if you are facing the pool/beach view. They have a couple of small heated pools(more like hot tubs) and a large pool that is indoor (for a small area) / outdoor (much larger pool). They have a little pizza/ice cream shop on the ground floor and a bar just outside. The Half Shell also serves food during the day by the pool. I have zero complaints about this place.

Room Tip: Get a room on the pool/beach view side

Stayed for 3 nights on Spring Break. Enjoyed it. Had a regular room with Gulf view. Nice room, double queens, but its a hotel room. Not really good, in my opinion, for a week long stay. Refigerator in room/NO microwave (but there was a "common" microwave near ice machine). Nice pool and the grounds well kept. Restaurants and pizza place on property. Both were good. Free wifi, flat screen TV, live music at pool. Very small balconeys. All rooms do not have a pool/gulf view. Some look over the parking lot. For longer stays and a little more $ night you could get a condo.

The biggest negative to me was that there was NO coin operated laundry on property.

We stayed during spring break 2011. Our rate was okay - keep in mind you are paying for the view/location. This is not a hotel with a lot of frills. Don't let the word "resort" set your expectation too high - it is not a resort. The gift shop is adequate and the prices are reasonable. The pizzeria has good pizza, but it was closed two of the seven days of our stay. The half shell, (the poolside grill) was only open once. I suppose this is because the hotel was somewhat empty. (Which was a big plus for us, as we don't like large crowds.) The hot water for showering was hit or miss - don't count on always having hot water - and remember, the hotel was nowhere near capacity. The cafe food was good - something like you would find at an Applebees or TGIFriday. Prices for meals at the cafe average $7-$20. We did have a Palmetto bug in our room which we first thought was a roach, but after contacting the front desk, they explained these little creatures. They sent housekeeping to our room to take care of it, but we had handled it by then. We did not encounter any rude behavior from anyone at the hotel - which was mentioned in many of the reviews. We would stay here again, but will research prices, as there was a wide range between the various websites - hotels.com/expedia, etc. The best price actually ended up being straight through the hotel. We stayed in a direct gulf-front room - which is breathtaking. The courtyard/pool area is wonderful - lots of room to lounge poolside with the expanse of the pool. We didn't experience noise from any of the other rooms - but I think we might have been the only ones on this floor! Not sure this would be the place for us if it was filled to capacity, but we sure enjoyed having it to ourselves this week.

Room Tip: Gulf-front rooms have more balcony privacy

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Orange Beach AL where we stayed at the Perdido Beach Resort.

Pros - The facility is just gorgeous inside and out!!! We were very impressed with the extremely friendly and helpful staff and the clean and beautifully decorated room. The white sugar sand beach was so clean, the water was beautiful and we even watched dolphins from the shore! The room rates were very reasonable.

Cons - While the Palm Breeze Cafe offered excellent prices meals the prime rib left a lot to be desired. We were hoping to order a pizza from another restaurant in the hotel but unfortunately it was closed on the weekend we were there.

All in all it was a great place to stay on our vacation in Orange Beach...we will recommend it to everyone!

My bf and I went down to the resort
after I got off late at work ( like 8 on a sat nite). We live about 30 miles away. We got the rm the last nite before at 110. Stellar price.
All rooms have balconies. Property sits ocean front. I called ahead to request a late check out and etc
David aka bellhop and concierge for the nite couldn't have been more accomodating. Due to a convention in town they upgraded us to a lovely room.
Eddie the maitre de at voyagers, four star restaurant had my fav entree ready to pick up when we arrived so we could eat on the balcony. The food is superb and the wait staff will actually hug u they are so nice.
Scott, head of housekeeping brought us plates and opened our wine himself.
The next day we had a 2 pm check out. Left our stuff w valet security while went to the beach and came back to a lovely hotub and gracious bathroom amenties by the pool. Overall this place dazzled. Love to all.

Staff extremely personable and polite all three days of our stay. Complex and room very clean, bathroom clean, bathroom fixtures work very good. Managers always walking through the common area to ensure everything is squared away. Upon our arrival, one queen bed did not appear to be fresh....contacted Housekeeping..and within 3 mintues...a houskeeper and a Supervisor were on the scene! Hotel is at a great location near shopping, great food restaurants, and two major grocery chains neary by. Beach and sand were excellent and clean! Easy parking at ground level allows for user friendly unloading and loading...We can't wait to return again this year!!!!

Perdido Beach Resort provided us with very good service. They were prompt with the valet which was offered free. The front desk was also quick and helpful. Not the best for dinner suggestions. Room service came early everyday and did a good job. The resort has several places to eat on site like a pizza place that also serves ice cream and a family restaurant as well as a fancy restaurant. A bar outside with T.V.s and a walk up and order by the pool. We went to all of these places except the fancy place. The food was average. The service was what you typically expect. In short we have no complaints with the service.

Our room had a king size bed with a dresser, two side tables and a small round table with two chairs. We had a pool view balcony with the added bonus of seeing the beach. The room showed its wear and tear but being a frequent visitor of the beach, I am not there to spend all my time in the room. It was OK.

The location was good. Right on the beach, close to publix's shopping center and other shopping. A ten minute drive I would say. Close to the Foley express, which you can take to get to the outlet mall in Foley, Alabama.

The amenites were good for this resort. You could get all you need from this place without having to leave for the duration of your trip. You might spend a bit more on some items then at let's say walgreens, but if you don't have a car to get around you will do fine here.

I went with my husband and my two year old daughter and what I like best was the beach access and the location to restaurants and shopping. I would have liked a better kiddie pool then the one they have. But all in all we had a nice experience.
