This place is in a great location. It looks like a full service resort you would see in Mexico, BUT everything is a little bit off.

The room was fine, the lobby was nice, there were plenty of chairs around the pool.

My big problems were the restaurants and service. The casual restaurant was equal to a diner, nothing special. The food by the pool was just hamburgers and chicken fingers and the service was terrible, we stood at the little window and were ignored for 5 minutes. The drinks from the bar cost $7 and have almost no alcohol in them. I had 4 drinks the first day and didn't even get a buzz. The fancy restaurant was a strange experience. There was a guy in a bathing suit and t-shirt having dinner, the rolls we were given had been microwaved, and the wine my husband ordered had been opened way too long.

There is an ice cream/pizza shop. It closes at 9pm. Every night they were closed early. We would try to order ice cream from room service, they only let you order vanilla or chocolate. After an hour of waiting for ice cream, they said the ice cream comes from the pizza shop (which has multiple flavors) and they had to find the keys.

The other thing I didn't like was the beach chair service. They write the names in chalk on the back of the chairs, but they are very hard to read. They tell you to find an empty chair and someone will come by to charge you. We sat in some chairs for about 4 hours before someone came by. They told us we had to move because the chairs belong to someone else. When we finally got that system figured out we rented chairs for the rest of our stay, but they start packing up the chairs very early (4pm) We went to a late lunch and planned an afternoon at the beach, but the chairs were gone. They just said "oh sorry"

I don't think my expectations were too high. It is the "Redneck Riviera", but I have had way better service at places that are $100 a night. For $300 a night they need to step it up.

I wish I would have reviewed more of the reviews prior to booking. Just spent 3 nights there July 19-22 and wasn't impressed. The property appears to be getting partial renovations but not sure as rooms bedding and deco was very nice as well as hall ways but lobby was straight out of the 70's and balcony furniture was old and corroded. The AC in room 803 doesn't cool and front desk / maintenance just gave us lip service. "Close the curtains during the day" which we did for 3 days, unit running on high the whole time and still had to sleep without bedding over us. The hall way was 20 degrees cooler than room. Actually left the door open a few times and got some of that cooler air into the room.

Need to change the name to Hotel as this isn't a resort. No staff walking around pool area during the day picking up used towels, the concierge wasn't helpful as she never acknowledged me while I stood in front of her desk for 2-3 minutes. Just talking on the phone with another employee.

Will have to pass on PBR for next trip to OB area.

Stayed here for July 4 weekend. Lovely place but the staff seemed a bit unprepared. Room service for breakfast was not delivered. Lobby bar only had one person. Line was outrageous. The fireworks demonstration was beautiful. Accessibility to the beach and pools good.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Very convenient to be able to just walk right out to the beach. It is very close to several restaurants. We also liked having pool towels available. Beds were very comfortable

Due to an error at a different hotel in Orange Beach, my family arrived in Orange Beach only to discover that the other hotel had deleted our reservation from their system and we had nowhere to stay. Calling around to find a room, the Perdido Beach Resort bent over backward to get us a beautiful room at an excellent rate for two nights, even calling in the cleaning staff at 8:00 pm to get the room ready for us. They were efficient and pleasant about extra requests, such as bringing up a third chair for our balcony. We enjoyed the food and the extra-large pool, appreciated the friendly and attentive staff, and loved the great ocean view. I would stay here again.
