Our family booked a family reunion at this resort in Jan for a June vacation. We have not even gotten there yet and they have swtiched our room no less than 3 times. The rooms they told us we could choose from are all booked. They are so disorganized. They then called us and told the new rooms we were offered weren't available again!! We are now 2 months from our vacation and have airline tickets in and out of penscola. We are stuck with what they will give us. Planning ahead didn't help us at all.

We stayed at the Caribe Resort in condo 309 in building C (C-309). We are very pleased with the condo and resort - would return again.

The condo had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, laundry, 3 TVs, DVD player, radio, patio with tables on it. Kitchen was as nice as the pictures make it look - good amount of utensils and pots/pans. Linens were clean, lots of towels provided. We did have to buy paper towels, laundry detergent, kleenex, etc - the condo does have several rolls of TP provided, a small amount of dishwasher detergent, etc. The wet bar included an ice maker - was very nice to have!

The unit overlooks the pool between buildings C & D. The view was great - to the right was the gulf and to the left was the bay. During the hours the pool was open, it could get a little loud with the patio doors open from the people playing in the pool and using the slide there.

The pool areas were amazing - 3 pools + a lazy river, many hot tubs. There were a lot of guests staying when we were there and we always found chairs and it didn't feel crowded.

The resort is not on the beach. It is walkable if you don't have small children or don't bring a lot with you. There is a parking lot at the beach (it's probably about .25 miles from the resort), so you could drive with your stuff if you wanted to. There is a trolley that runs from the resort to the beach - we didn't use it so I can't comment on the schedule / ease of getting back, etc.

We thought we'd explore more of the area and ended up having so much to do at the resort & beach that we didn't get out much!

This resort is beautiful with great amenities. They have at least three pools I know of, a lazy river, plenty of hot tubs, saunas (wet and dry), gyms, and anything else you could ever need on a vacation. The room was lovely and spacious and the lobby is amazing with a glass elevator and fish pond that wraps around the inside of the lobby.

The only drawbacks: as mentioned before, you aren't directly on the beach, however, there is a short walk to it. You don't have to take a shuttle. You walk under the pass (the bridge) and you're right in the sand. Still, the view is beautiful and you can see plenty of dolphins. Another drawback: the front desk staff wasn't friendly. I work front desk at a hotel myself and I know when the staff doesn't want to have to deal with you and the few times someone in my group inquired about something at the desk, the staff seemed annoyed.

However, if you don't mind being not directly on the beach and don't feel you will have to deal with the staff, this place is enjoyable. I do highly recommend it.

The Caribe is a beautiful resort. The pools are wonderful, the extra amenities such as carpet golf, tennis, and snack bar make it more than simply a "condo". And the rooms are amazing. Top of the line appliances, excellent decor, a truly master suite with a huge bathroom, everything you would expect at a luxury resort. The one drawback, and it's a biggie for us, the location. You don't just walk across the street to the beach, you need to drive there. Supposedly the resort has a shuttle, but we never used it nor ever even saw it running. When we went the weather did not cooperate, it was cold and drizzly. The Caribe was actually a good choice for bad weather. We felt comfortable letting our 13 year old girls basically go anywhere on the property alone as it is a gated community. However, if it had been nice and sunny they would have wanted to be on the beach and we could have never let them go by themselves. I don't think I would stay here again. It didn't feel like I was really "at the beach". I really missed my view and listening to the sound of the waves from my balcony.

This was a great place. We were in C1105 and it is beautiful! We were aware that it was on the Bay side so that wasn't a big deal. Plus we are all from Mobile and we knew it was cold outside! We started the night out in the outside hot tub! Almost froze when we decided to get out. But it was so relaxing. The condo was beautiful and oh, so cozy. Saturday afternoon we walked along the beach Gulf-side. It was wonderful to have the beach to ourselves. We returned to the resort and lazed the afternoon away on the balcony watching the sailboats and the sea birds. That evening we went to the indoor pool and hot tub. MUCH warmer!! We had the place to ourselves. The Caribe is someplace I would recommend to friends and family. It appears to have a lot to offer children of all ages. But in the off season it was wonderful to have the place to yourselves. I will definitely go again!!!

My family and I have vacationed at the Caribe Resort three times now, and we certainly plan to return. The facility is wonderful, with 6 large pools, a lazy river, and several waterslides for the kids (and adults) to play on. Each of the three buildings has a beautiful atrium with water features and vibrant, tropical colors.

We have rented from Meyer Real Estate before, but have found a few wonderful condos more recently from vrbo.com. We were increasingly more impressed with each unit we stayed in. They all have stocked gourmet kitchens, spacious balconies, upscale fixtures, and room for everyone to spread out. Some units even come with its own parking space, which is a real plus during those crowded summer months.

Some complain because the Caribe is not directly on the beach, however this has never been an issue for us. With a unit facing the bay, you can actually see dolphins out in the distance, or watch jellyfish float by the docks. The public beach is across the street, easily accessible by a two minute car or shuttle ride.

In addition, Caribe has its own restaurant, Cobalt, which we have found to be as enjoyable as the rest of the resort! I hope you will consider the Caribe when planning your vacation, and I hope that my little review could help in some way! God bless!

Room Tip: I definitely recommend the "bay view" units. You are directly above the water, while "...

Great place with 3 pools, watersides, clean, beautiful view of intercostal, However, it's not on the beach. You must take a shuttle to go to beach.

Room Tip: I reserved with an owner on VBRO, great communication.
