Malolo Island Resort is so relaxing and beautiful! The staff are warm & friendly, you can do everything or nothing at all. Kids club is a perfect mixture of spending time with your kids and them experiencing the Fijian culture at kids club. My husband and I took our 8 year old son, who is shy on first meeting people, by day 2 he was letting us know his plans for the day! The kids club staff are beyond wonderful! The beautiful Ala & Milly, who our son adored. The Staff will have you feeling like family within days of arriving. Everybody knows your name and always a big Bula! As you walk past. The bar, reception, food service, house keeping and water sports people were all outstanding! Beds are amazing, everything is clean and well kept. Bures are gorgeous with fab views, huge showers, great A/C. Visit the Spa, the pedi was a treat. Snorkelling is amazing and plenty of kayaks, paddle boards & snorkel gear! Scooby's cocktails are to die for. Free wifi at the beach bar and close by bures. Take reef shoes for the beach, a camera and a good book. Relax and let Malolo work it's magic :) We'll be back soon.

We returned for our second holiday to Malolo Island Resort last November. Our party of 7 consisted of all ages from my 74 year old dad to my 4 year old son. What a memorable trip. Between my dad's awesome experience on the kayak, my husband's trips to Cloudbreak for surfing, my son's rides on the banana boat, plus fine dining, relaxation and blissful swimming and snorkelling in between, we all had a wonderful time.

Considering our first visit was before cyclone Evan, we wondered how this resort could possibly be any better than our last trip, as we were in love back then. Well, it's absolute Heaven on Earth now, with amazing restaurant facilities, incredible 'adults only' areas for relaxation - day beds in paradise, fantastic children's activities in Tia's Treehouse and beyond (line fishing from a boat, a visit to another Island, and the list goes on) and staff we love as family.

On arrival, 18 months after our first visit, we were greeted with hugs and a big 'welcome home' from all the staff. We remembered their names, and they ours. How they do this with so many guests over that time is testament to the value they place on each and every one of their guests. We felt so special, and that we'd returned to our favourite place on this earth.

Children are in paradise as well, with so many activities from the kids club banana boat rides, to face painting, meke skirt making and the list goes on. My older daughter loved the visit to the local school as well as to another nearby island. Teenagers would love the hobiecats and kayaks, adults love the blissful relaxation and younger kids love all the activities and games provided for them.

We are so in love that we have now booked our third trip to Malolo Island Resort. Why do we feel it's the best in the Mamanucas? Well, we decided to visit five comparable nearby resorts to experience other island resort facilities and beaches to really get a feel for what's on offer in the area. The list includes several visits to Castaway, Tropica, Mana, Plantation and Musket Cove. We enjoyed most of these places (except two - Plantation and Mana, which were run-down and in need of upgrade and maintenance). Tropica is brand new and quite lovely for adults only, but way too silent and 'still' for us. Castaway is a close second but bures don't compare, and Musket Cove is more for the boating community and they cater for a self contained holiday with a marina as the main view. Back to Malolo, and we felt it had the most gorgeous bures with by far the best vicinity to the water with enough space between the rooms for privacy. Each bure has water views, and the beach provides a lovely stroll to enjoy a private snorkelling paradise wherever you choose.

Can't wait to return again this November. And we cannot recommend this little piece of heaven with it's wonderful staff highly enough.

Room Tip: All rooms are within a few steps to the water. We loved deluxe bure 18 as it was close enough to e...

We arrived after a private ceremony in Australia, and could not have been made to feel more welcome for our week long stay. Everyone on staff were always very friendly, welcoming and accommodating- from the managers, the chefs, wait & bar staff, activity guides, musicians, massage therapists, workmen, gardeners and cleaners. Occupancy was low, so with a high staff to guest ratio, we felt extra special. Other guests were also friendly and enjoying their holidays, although there really weren't many others there for our stay, which gave a sense of privacy throughout. Although warned about the wet season, we had great weather for most of our trip(albeit very hot!), but it is notable that many of our preferred outdoor activities (e.g., snorkelling, fishing) were highly dependent on the sun and low wind. When the weather turned for us, it merely forced relaxation time. There were a few kids around, but mostly engaged in kids club activities, so didn't bother us at all. We stayed in a very private honeymoon bure with the water and reef as our front yard. The walk from the resort centre was worthwhile for added privacy, and also welcomed to walk off our food indulgences. Food had been one of our biggest concerns before we arrived. I am a vegetarian (almost vegan) and my husband needs a gluten free diet. To our delight, we were overwhelmed by how accommodating the chefs were for us. They quickly understood our needs and made it their job to ensure we had food to enjoy - and, boy was it good! If there was nothing to our taste on the menu, they would be happy (and proud) to present us a surprise alternative. This went very well every time.. Best gf pancakes we have ever tried!! We found our special song on malolo (thanks to the awesome musos), and have taken away so many special memories. I had a tear in my eye when we left. We will be back. Vinaka vaka levu

We had a fantastic stay at Malolo Island resort, one of the best holidays Ive been on. Resort is beautiful, staff were extremely friendly, food and drinks were reasonable. We spent 4 days snorkelling, kayaking, SUPing, swimming and drinking cocktails, it was perfection.

Before we went, we did have a little complaint with the rate of the resort. But once we arrived and spent two night over there. We did feel all are worthwhile.

Not so many tourists visiting, and because of that, we counld enjoy a very good mother nature of South Pacific Island with a great privacy. Very good sunshine and beach and also a good swinnng pool only with your loved one. A very good chef, he comes from Australia. We did appreciate the food as since we are still in a decent resturant in the civilization.

We are planning our next visit for early next year. Hope the people there are still the same with pure heart and even better.

My last visit to this resort was prior to its extensive upgrade and my family and I were so impressed by the physical transformation of the property - from an upgraded restaurant designed for so many more guests than previously while allowing for free flow to either buffet selection or for a la carte service. It was spacious, sparkling clean and the service was prompt and impecccable. The beach "bures"/villas were light, airy and perfectly maintained with classy Fijian decor touches and provided us with very comfortable accommodation for six adults and two children - the patience and very niceness of the housekeeping staff must be commended as we were messy guests. The layout, accommodation, services and standard of service make this resort perfect for both couples and families. It ranks as one of the top resorts in the islands and the renovation and new facilities still allowed the property to retain its special Fijian service style.

Room Tip: We were kindly allocated a beachfront villa near the central core which allowed easy access to resta...

We were a bit tentative heading to Malolo as we had heard it was popular with families and we were after a quiet holiday. Although the resort is set up for families it is a perfect getaway for couples as well and we loved our time on the island. The setting is just amazing and the facilities are great as well as they had been upgraded after the hurricane a few years ago. The food on the island was also incredible, especially the Tree tops restaurant which caters for adults only. The staff on the Island were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. The happy hour cocktails with live music were always lots of fun. A special mention goes out to Natha in the restaurant who made every visit a pleasure!
Great water sport facilities, beautiful reefs for snorkeling and relaxing massages. We would definitely return here!
