Wonderful experience... Food was amazing. The staff seemed to be generally caring. The beachfront buree was the nicest we have stayed in. We would have liked an over water but they were all full. And perhaps the beachfront was an even better experience... We had two beachchairs on the sand or in our grass area, we had an outdoor bed, and more.

the gym was new and everything worked (unusual for such resorts).

the hiking was steep and fun.. Good cardio to try to burn off some of the massive calories we consumed.

A couple lessons learned:

1. take the water taxi.. It is only 45 minutes and you don't get stuck at the airport for hours waiting. We were originally going to take the seaplane. It left in the early evening. And our flight arrived at 5am. We learned this lesson after a similar experience of being stuck a the (old) airport all day once waiting for the 10 minute flight.

2. Bring a wifi hotspot... the free wifi in the resort only functioned about a third of the time. and it blocked so much such as receiving photos it was frustrating even when it did have internet connectivity. There is reliable 3g on the resort property.. Bring your own if you are in need of reliable internet.

Beautiful all inclusive resort with the best service we have ever encountered.
Food amazing and Fijian friendliness made for a holiday of a lifetime.
Arrive by helicopter if you can to see the islands and the reef. Their greeting us “ welcome home”. So relaxing

Absolute paradise, absolute romance, the gorgeous Fijian staff. We stayed in the beachside Bure as well as over water Bure for part of the trip. Sheer indulgence. The food was ahhhhmazing, water sports, coco the resort dog and that view... sensational. The best 10 days of my life, apart from marrying my husband and having my children. Says a lot.

I expected the resort to be 5-star. It was. In fact, I'd rate it even higher. Everything from the staff to the accommodation to the meals to the location was first class. Couldn't have asked for more.

We arrived at LikuLiku on the southsea cruises seacat ferry. We opted for the later direct service, and was a very nice new vessel with some nice commentary. Disembarking onto a smaller speedboat just off the island was a chaotic but memorable experience. The fact that LikuLiku sends two boats out, one for guests and one for luggage, in hindsight says loads about the experience we were about to receive.
Stepping ashore we were greeted by the usual fijian song and the very capable Usa, who checked us in on the small island bar in the open air, and gave us a few good pointers about our stay. Usa then took us to our over-water bure, and it was stunning! It was abundantly clear to us that the bure was immaculately clean and superbly maintained. Usa commented on the very thorough maintenance program that they have in place. But it was when I asked Usa if they make smoothies that his reply kind of summarised our entire stay "of course, we are 5 star, we will make whatever you want". Nice. They were good too.
Our overwater bure had a deck with a sunny part and a shaded part, and a lower deck that had a ladder down to the reef. Snorkling amongst the friendly and very colourful fish was a highlight. Looking down at them through the bathroom bench splashback was fantastic. There is an abundance of fish of varying size and species.
The distance from our bure to the restaurant and central pool was significant. Initially we were ordering the very reliable buggy service, but eventually we started to relax and worked out that strolling along the jetty and then the path amongst the immaculate tropical gardens was way more fun, and also worked out that it was actually quite quick to walk along the beach instead.
The pool area was an absolute delight, and is clearly and superbly designed and setup for couples and small groups. Quite remarkable really, and with a nice roaming bar service.
This was our 2nd visit to fiji, so we knew every fijian says "bula", however at LikuLiku it went further. Actually I wont spoil the surprise too much, but let your pressure filled western world guard down, be just a little bit friendly yourself, and you will start to see and experience something magical from the LikuLiku staff that we've never experienced anywhere in the world before.
Take time to know the waiting staff, to not do the western thing of just ignoring them, and I mean all of them - the gardeners, the fresh cookie delivery man, the cleaners and you will see a side of humanity that is fresh and wonderful. I just mentioned cookies - all pastries and breads are baked daily at the resort, and the pastry chef, chef, and everyone else involved in the food and beverage need to be acknowledged for their extraordinary abilities. But singling them out isnt fair. Everyone - the gardeners, the cleaners, day spa ladies, boutique staff, reception, activities team, absolutely everyone at this resort has it together.
We used the day spa for a wonderful massage. One of the best anywhere. The physical space was very lacking though, but who cares when the massage is that good. Since I'm on negatives, the light switches in our bure. So many light switches. Not sure who thought of that as a good idea.
There are two types of accommodation. Firstly the superb overwater bure's. Noticed earlier comments about lacking privacy. We were in #3, and yes I could see people standing right on the edge of their deck, but every speedboat that went pass could also see them, so hardly an issue. Comments that the end ones are more private are not really correct. Yes they are more private to the other overwater bure's, but signficantly less private to the rest of the resort, especially number 10.
We had a look at the land based bures during our stay. They are all the same and once again absolutely impeccably maintained and cleaned. There are 3 types - firstly close to the beach with a very small pool. The pool was so small that it seemed pointless. The second was the same again but no pool (best value for land based stay), and the 3rd was a garden bure that faces the beach but is set further back.
I noticed earlier reports about food room service. This is not your everyday western international hotel. If you embrace the resorts culture you will quickly learn that, and just maybe it will have some impact on what should be a life changing experience. The chefs produce curated meals that would not travel well to the bure's, and would be spoiled by any delays, so I can certainly appreciate their desire to control your experience in this regard. Also noticed comments about having to book a table for dinner - well I now understand why. They like to receive guests into the restaurant in a steady flow - so they take bookings of 5 groups only in 15 minute blocks. This allows them the level of attention and interaction that they want to deliver an amazing and complete dining experience to you. And don't worry about not getting a view. The design of the restaurant and its outdoor spaces mean that almost every table has the amazing view without interruption. If you want a particular table though, book all your nights when you arrive. Sadly though, our time had to finish, and both of us were for the first time ever, saddened to leave. We left knowing that we had eaten far too much, and said goodbye to only a few of the amazing staff that knew us on a first name basis...actually I think they all knew us on a first name basis in the end, and that was their initiative. Most seemed to know our bure number and favourite drinks too.
But there is something likuliku did very wrong. Something they ruined. Our future holidays. Now every holiday will be compared to LikuLiku, and I doubt we will ever find a place to take them down from that lofty place as our best ever, so LikuLiku therefore has to take full responsibility for ruining every holiday we take in the future.
And one last thing. The person that wrote a 1 star review suggesting they shouldnt let bugs on the island, well the bug language signs demanding they not enter the island must have worked.

Room Tip: go with an overwater bure in the middle, or a beach front bure without a pool
