Addictive is a good word to describe Navini Island Resort, you never want to leave. Resort is the wrong word to describe Navini it is like a house party hosted by friends. Thank you Helen and Arthur for your hospitality.
We first came to Navini about 1990 and returned again for the next few years. Eddie discovered scuba diving which dictated our holidays as he wanted to try many dive locations in Fiji and Vanuatu, fortunately he has slowed down and we can come to Navini more. We returned to Navini at Christmas 2006. After a few more visits we decided to go for another Navini Christmas. We met up again with three couples whom we met in 2006 which was lovely. Also met a couple that I recommended Navini to via Trip Advisor Forums, they loved it.
We woke Christmas morning early to the staff singing Christmas carols near out bure and that morning there was a Christmas service with more hymns and carols. That evening we had a traditional Christmas dinner. with ham , pork and turkey and all the trimmingsl Christmas Pudding too of course! Our eight days flew by so fast. We went on all the daily trips, snorkeling, fishing and visiting other island resorts. On a visit to Beachcomber most took advantage of the chance to para sail. Great fun.
The resort hasn't changed much since we first went there. The gardens are more lush and of course the bures have been renovated over the years. They are very comfortable offering a variety of accommodation. All are beach front and private. No pool but much better is the beautiful lagoon. Lots to do the paddle boats are fun, you can sail, snorkel, kayak or just veg.
The meals are fantastic. With four courses at dinner you won't go hungry. You have the choice of having your evening meal in the dining room on the "table that grows" with the number of guests at your bure or on the beach. We choose to dine with our fellow guests but will have a beach dinner one day.
You have the use of snorkeling gear and beach towels are provided. I don't think I wore anything on my feet from the moment I arrived. Very casual. a sulu (sarong) and t-shirt seem to be the night time dress.
The wonderful staff can't do enough for you and your name is remembered from day one.
Very personal, very special and Very Addictive.
Thank you all very much for giving us another perfect holiday. Hope to see lou during 2011 and hopefully for New Year.

We first came to Navini in Feb 2010 and came back for a short stay in Oct/Nov 2010. We went back because we enjoyed the first trip so much - the peace and quiet, the wonderful service, the friendly staff and the wonder views around the island's reef. During the last trip the island was relatively empty - one night we were the only people staying. This time the island was full, all 10 units were used and more. But you know it never felt it - it was just as peaceful and just as relaxed and the staff all remembered us and could not do enough for us. This time it was better as we had more people to talk to at the communal meals.

This is a place that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. We saw more resorts this time and always come back knowing that Navini is the best.

My wife and I just arrived back home after 5 amazing nights at Navini for our honeymoon. The whole trip was just perfect. We were met at the airport with refreshments and a shell lei greeting. Then we were taken by car to the docks (about a 20 minute drive) and shown to a waiting boat. We were greeted by Julie and Arthur on the beach and immediately shown to our private burre (that's what they call the rooms there). The next five days were just what we were looking for. The beach was perfect - clean, the sand is white and fine, and the water is crystal clear and warm. We made much use of the hammock and our lounge chairs on the beach. The snorkeling was some of the best we'd ever seen right off the beach. The food was fantastic. The meals were varied and tasty. We also were there for a wedding, which was a great experience. We had a private dinner on the beach one night, and the other nights enjoyed talking to the other guests on the island from all over the world. By the time our week was up we had made some great friends. I cannot recommend the place enough.

I chose Navini from so many resorts because of the reviews on tripAdvisor. I'm glad to say I feel the same with other guests. My family and I had a very very good time there. We stayed 5 nights at Navini and enjoyed every minute! My parents are not good at swimming, but they can see the beautiful corals and fish even standing in the water. As other reviews mentioned, Navini provides morning trip to other places everyday, we went to the Sand Cay once, which is a very beautiful snorkeling place. But I think the place we get off the boat after the morning trip in Navini has the same beautiful view as Sand Cay. You can also find sharks there.
The food used to be the problem to my family, because it's too different with ours. We are from China, and the city we live is much colder than Fiji, so we seldom eat cold or uncooked food during meals, especially my parents. But we were getting used to it and found delicious food we prefer. The food was fresh and we love the communal dining. Though my English is poor, I tried to communicate with other guests from different countries.
The stuff are very very nice. My mum cannot speak English but she always said, "You can still feel their warm and sincere." We left on 5:00 am to catch the flight, Maria and other boys helped us take the baggage and said goodbye to us. When we got to the dock, Henry was already waiting for us to send us to the airport.
Thank you for all you did and giving us a wonderful holiday. I hope we'll get back someday!

Our family of 5 [including three daughters 13, 11 and 9] loved Navini.

Navini's island setting is divine but it is the staff who add a special element. Here you are known by name. We stayed for seven wonderful relaxing days and nights after having three nights on the main island.

It was 'busy' during our stay with anywhere between 20+- 30+ guests but apart from meal times we hardly saw anyone.

Each morning there is a trip to either snorkel/ fish, visit a nearby island or village. We only went on one snorkeling/ fishing trip and the village/ school trip as we were content to enjoy Navini's delights. Our family made good use of the water sports equipment . We took our own snorkeling gear but you can borrow some. Beach towels are provided.

The two room bure suited our needs perfectly. Three single beds were set up in the lounge room for our girls. Our bure was comfortable and clean.

We enjoyed the communal dining most of the time but elected to dine in front of our bure on several occasions during our stay. Children can eat their dinner at 6pm rather than wait to eat at 7.30. Our girls preferred to eat earlier and would wait eagerly for one of the staff members to join them to play the board game Vidi Vidi whilst we ate dinner.

We all have fond memories of our time at Navini and intend to return...

We stayed for 7 nights with our girls (7,11 and 13) and it was very relaxing and peaceful. The water is clear and the snorkelling great. A good place for beginners to learn as the water is nice and warm and you can just walk out and snorkel 50 metres from the beach. There is plenty of good food and the place has the right balance between private time and time to mix with others (staff and guests) during meals and during the various outings that available. This was our first trip to Fiji and we are so glad that we got the 'island experience". The accommodation in huts is basic but more than adequate and the hammock and beach seats got good use from one of us reading or relaxing and just enjoying the beautiful sunsets and weather.

So much to say about the place, but I'll be brief. If you are looking for a place with all luxuries that you really need on a vacation with great snorkeling at your doorstep go to Navini. The island is surrounded by one of the best reefs in the area. You just wade out and watch the show. I've attached some photos but the rest are here:

By the way, we came for the scenery, but the thing that really made us enjoy the trip were the people. The staff were some of the best people that you would want to meet.
