We are departing vomo today having travelled here with our 15 month son. We have loved every minute. It is hard to put your finger on what makes this place special but it is truly a beautiful setting with beautiful people. Our son has loved the kids village and his wonderful nanny nai and will be sad to leave today. The food is magnificent. I am a person who is usually worried about having very luxurious accommodation. However, whilst the villas here are a simpler form of five star luxury, I have never felt so pampered as the beautiful gardens, quality food and incredible service mean you feel relaxed from beginning to end. We were worried about our son not sleeping whilst being in the same room as us however he has slept beautifully every night after having wonderful meals and fun at the kids club with nai. We are planning our return and cannot wait to come back to this tropical island paradise. highly recommend particularly for families with children under the age of 5

Bula FussyTravellerx3,
Greetings from the South Pacific!
We thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Vomo is a very special place that is hard to put your finger on it, I believe having been here a year now that the island being private and only having 30 rooms gives you the luxury of space to play , coupled most importantly with a truly wonderful team of Fijians who care for couples and families alike , with an instant natural bond with the little islanders which gives the parents the peace of mind to unwind.
We are continuing to build and add to the luxury factor for families and couples alike with some very exciting culinary and beverage initiatives for 2014.
Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you home.

We travelled to Vomo as a Family with two young children aged 3 years and 20 months old for 7 wonderful nights. We travelled in by Helicopter which was a pleaseant 10 minute helicopter flight and probaly the most convinient option. Vomo feels like your own private island and piece of Paradise. The resort is amazing in every sense, here are just a few reasons:

1. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, and make you feel like thier family - they all know your name and are so good with the kids.
2. The food was exquisite with every meal being like eating a five star restaraunt.
3. The kids village is great. Our kids loved playing with the other children and we felt so comfortable leaving our kids thier. They are so good with the kids and we had the most wonderful nanny Solomi who our little boy loved being with - which was a surprise for us as he is a big mummies boy.
4. The water just steps from our beachfront villa was crystal clear with great snorkelling just off the beach. There is also free daily snorkel trips by boat for those who wish to do so.
5. The rooms were great. They were comfortable and large enough to be comfortable with 2 adults and two kids. We had a pertition in our room which let us put the kids in thier own area.
6. The fishing was great. Went out one morning and was fortunante enough to bring in quite a large spanish Mackeral. All the people that I heard went out fishing caught something. which they cook for you in whatever way you want.

There is so much more, but you should go find out for yourself.

Vomo is a beautiful place and we are already planning our next trip to the island, it is such a great place to travel with kids, and the couples and honeymooners we travelled with had the same views as us.

The new GM, Mark, has done a wonderful job with the place so far from what we could see and has great plans for Vomo which means that it will only get better, if that is possible.

Thanks to all the staff who made us feel like family. look forward to seeing you all again.

Bula Allan81.
Greetings from Vomo!
Thank you for writing such a glowing review with insightful points.
We are aiming to ensure that our focus is luxury for families and couples alike on Vomo and this is a continual work in progress that is made easy by the amazing team we have on Vomo.
The Fijian team are really from bygone days that have a connection with the families and couples that I have never discovered on the globe, its real and not orchestrated and its what we really pride ourselves on.The snorkelling is always popular and when we are a stand alone operation on 255 acres of space to play in it makes it so special, we of course have the Padi dive centre up and running which gives a whole new element to getting closer to the natural world with a great team there to guide you. Thank you again for the time and for choosing Vomo and we look forward to welcoming you back to your island home away from home.

It feels like you have your own private island! The rooms are beautiful. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and all the comforts of home, however, you will probably spend the majority of your time on the hammock out front. The food is top notch and the daily snorkeling trips and helicopter tours (departing from your own little grassy helicopter pad) are amazing.

Getting to this island requires a hour boat ride, helicopter or sea plane.

Laying out on the white sand beach and watching the sunset is what you will spend most of your time doing. Come to this place to relax, be pampered and enjoy amazing food and drinks.

Greetings from your island in the South Pacific.
Thank you for taking the time to write a positive review on Vomo.
The helicopters continue to visit with it being the popular option to arrive being only a 15 minute ride from the airport.
You captured what Vomo is about and that is relaxing and being pampered in a natural 255 acre island where its only us!
We hope one day we can welcome you back to our white sandy shores!

After a wonderful 8 nights at Vomo Island we have returned to our home still dreaming of Coconut Mojitos! Vomo was our wedding venue and home to 18 guests for our celebration stay. To say we had the time of our lives is an understatement with our guests still asking when we are planning to renew our vows ‘Vomo’ style!

The staff at Vomo are friendly, attentive and genuine. I say genuine as I have now stayed at 6 resorts in Fiji and whilst Fijians are wonderfully friendly by nature, the staff at Vomo are an absolute standout. They clearly love their jobs and enjoy interacting with guests. Given the importance of staff and the impact their attitudes can have on your stay this was a highlight.

The wedding was amazing. We had some unusual requests including use of Vomo’s little island Vomo LeiLei for the ceremony and fire dancers at the reception. These had never been done before at Vomo yet the staff worked tirelessly to ensure our requests were fulfilled and the wedding was our ‘perfect’.

We stayed in a beachfront bure as did the majority of our guests. They are all very private (even the duplexes) and spacious. Every detail had been considered from the complimentary laundry service to the small flower arrangements, which change daily. We felt ‘special’ every time we returned to our carefully ‘turned down’ bure.

The property grounds are kept well groomed and immaculately clean with groundsman always nearby offering a smile and Bula greeting. To say the water is clear blue and sparkling and sand is soft and white is no exaggeration. It is absolutely stunning.

The kids club is the best I have experienced and our son loved the activities offered (and his nanny Faye!). In my opinion Vomo has found the perfect balance between families who don’t want to sacrifice a luxurious holiday because they have children and couples who want romance and don’t want to be overrun by children.

The food was exceptional. Each morning we started with a Vomo Vitamin juice or fresh coconut and after a hectic morning snorkelling or in a hammock, we would sit down to an a la carte 3-course lunch with a menu that changed daily! We loved that food was all-inclusive and that a table had been set for our 18 guests each meal. One evening two of our guests were celebrating birthdays and were treated to singing, cakes and balloons to mark the occasion.

Whilst we didn’t get to personally experience the private beach picnic, my sister and her hubby did. It looked spectacularly romantic and I would return to Vomo just for this!

A huge thanks to Mark and the Vomo staff for our amazing stay. See you next year for our 1st anniversary… if we can wait a whole year before returning! We are particularly excited about experiencing the new dive centre!

Room Tip: We have renamed ours the honeymoon bure. Number 21 is the best! But if you have a family some of the...

We travelled to Vomo Island in October as a family of 2 adults and 3 young kids. This is the first holiday I have been on since having kids that ACTUALLY felt like a holiday. Within Hours of arriving on the island my husband and I were completely relaxed! - usually it takes me a few days to unwind on holidays, but here, your worries are a million miles away.
The Island is Fijian 5 star luxury and very family friendly and most of the guests had children. Children are welcome at any time in any of the areas however you will usually find them at the kids club.
The kids are taken care of by the most incredibly nannies in the most incredible kids club. My kids Loved their nanny and wanted to spend all their time playing with the other children in Kids club.
For Adults, IF THE WEATHER IS NICE, there are many Activities included with your stay such as
daily snorkelling trips
you can enjoy a cocktail watching the most amazing sunsets from the Rocks bar.
Enjoy Romantic Candlelit dinners on the beach or by the pool
Climb Mount Vomo with spectacular views
Watch the firewalking show

Unfortunately while we were there, it was terrible weather and it rained most of the week. and the rocks bar was closed, so we didnt get to see any of these amazing sunsets, the snorklling trips were cancelled, there were no dinners on the beach and the Firewalking show was cancelled.
And so this did leave us disappointed and it did begin to make it feel like an expensive holiday when all we ended up doing most days was sleeping or reading books in our Bure. Fortunately our Children were still entertained in the kids Club so we we still did find it relaxing, but unfortunately at $2300 AU per night it did not feel like great value for money for us.
Here are a few things about the Island

Accomodation:
All the bures are lovely. Most of the Beachfront Bures are duplex... set up for interconnecting. which means you can hear your neighbour and their kids. The duplex rooms are not great for couples or two couples with kids. you can hear conversations etc...in the bures next to you.
All Bures are perfect for family of 3 - A family of 4 would be squishy in one bure. - A family of Five ( like us) has to take interconnecting rooms at Double the Price. whilst we were there many families requested room changes because they could hear their neighbours. or their neighbours children were waking them up.
Vomo has become a very family friendly resort and i would like to see some more variety of accomodation options for families. Like other islands, ( Malolo and Castaway) where they have options of Family Bures for bigger families..Perhaps the duplex bures should be family bures and not be charge double the price but perhaps somewhere reasonable in between? and the single stand alone bures kept for couples and smaller families. I did feel that the only option of Interconnecting rooms at double the price for 2 adults, and 3 children who are only under the age of 5 was slightly overpriced.

Food- AMAZING! this is the absolute highlight! every meal was amazing.

Service- Very good.- the People on the Island make this the special place it was. There were a few service issues which you wouldnt expect at a 5 star resort. But overall it was good.

Kids Club- Alot of fun for the kids, staff are kind and well trained. Kids club is a great set up.

Overall, despite the bad weather we still had an AMAZING holiday. Mark the GM has done an amazing job so far with VOMO and he has a great vision for the future. The resort is becoming more family friendly but also in a way that Couples would also love this island too. So Hopefully there will be some great Packages on offer again next year because Vomo is a very special place and we absolutely loved everything about it and we really want to return again next year and for many years to come.
VINAKA.

Bula Luxury Kitten,

Greetings from Vomo and thank you for taking time to write an insightful review.
Sorry the weather didn't play in your favour when you were here and we have now set up the chiefly bure as a chill out games area with new dedon furnishings and a large selection of new games.
The kids village continues to be popular with all our families and we aim to increase the level of service in the area for the little islanders.
I do hear you with regards the cost of taking two rooms for families over 5 people and this is unfortunately the configuration we are limited to based on the original design , however we are in the process of doing two new 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom villas that will be perfect for families and have completed two new rooms with extended decks and outdoor areas.
Vomo is a luxury haven for families and couples alike and we will continue to focus on areas for both categories.
Thank you for all your positive comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to our shores

We stayed for 7 nights with a 3 year old and 18 month old in a beach front bure. The one-bedroom bure was perfect for a family of four as the room had a partition. We arrived by sea plane to crystal clear blue waters, white sandy beaches and friendly staff. The island has stunning natural beauty and the bure's are clean, modern and spacious. The food was excellent for both children and adults. It was great to see an abundance of choices (healthy and not so healthy) for both children and adults. Our children were taken care of by a wonderful Nanny who took them to the kids club for several hours each day and it was such a treat to come home from dinner with my hubby to find two sleeping children every evening. The kids club had wonderful activities such as picnics on the beach, shell painting, crab racing etc. This was an amazing place in every way - natural beauty, activities for the whole family, excellent food, beautiful rooms and sensational caring staff. We will be returning!

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are far superior. If you have children request a room with a partition.

We stayed for a week with our 3 and 1 1/2 year old. We cried when we left which says everything, I have never had that before. This I think is a great testament to the wonderful staff you have.
The kids club was great and although we were keen to spend time with the kids they had other ideas- given the option any day kids club won- Vinaka Mila and the crew and particularly Alena our 'nanny'. The indoor kids club was great for both rainy and very hot days.
We could go on... Paddle boarding over the coral, snorkeling the reef drop offs, amazing food- thanks Amit.
We would love to tell you all to visit now but we want to keep it to ourselves so maybe don't!!!
See you when we return.
