We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at The Pearl. It was my girlfriend’s birthday so I wanted to be special and the wonderful staff at the resort made sure it was with plenty of magic touches to ensure our trip was truly memorable. We made full use of the resort facilties and by the end of our stay felt completely relaxed and rejuvanated.

The resort had a fantastic spa where I had one of the best massages I have had in a long time. The golf course was unlike any I had played on before – it is very challenging and had a wonderful setting as it had been carved through the forest. I also went on the snorkelling trip offered by the hotel and it was well worth it as I was able to see some really varied coral and tropical fish.

The prices on food and beverage at the hotel were pretty reasonable and there were plenty of good tasty options on the menu. There is also a happy hour in the hotel lobby each afternoon where you could get some cheap drinks and listen to some cool music played by a local guitar trio.

The Pearl is a bit of a drive from Nadi (about 2 and a half hours) but it was good to get out and see more of the island and pass through the little villages on the way (where everyone would shout out BULA as you drove by) which you wouldn't see if you simply stayed up near the airport. Pacific Harbour also has a shopping centre of sorts and a couple of other resorts so there are a couple of other places to have a look at in the area – we had a drink at the nearby Uprising backpacker resort one late afternoon.

Overall I think the Pearl offers very good value and there are plenty of facilities whether you want to be active or just sit in a hammock by the beach. The hotel lobby is really impressive and the rooms are very comfortable. I would visit again.

The Pearl South Pacific is a journey from Nadi airport but definitely worth it! It is perfect for couples who don't want a large resort but want all the trimmings. The penthouse themed rooms are luxurious but without the luxurious price tag. The restaurants are great with either theme nights or romantic settings - you chose - with the South Pacific Ocean and cool breeze thrown in to boot! It does not suit the night club crowd as after dinner the activities are a walk along the beach front, sit in a beach front bure, watch a movie in the private cinema or challenge you partner to a chess game before retiring. And you need to go to bed early to be ready for white water rafting down the river, zip lining in the rainforest, snorkeling the reef, visiting a nearby island, diving with the sharks, playing a round of golf, visiting the fabulous spa centre or just lazing near the pool. Did I mention the Fijian people working there are so friendly and extremely helpful no matter what the request??? Oh and don't forget happy hour at 5pm every day... the cocktails are amazing!!!! We had a perfect holiday with lots of adventure and relaxtion...without kids!!!!

We found the pearl to be a lovely place to spend christmas, it has most things you would want for a short stay, the hotel rooms are gorgeous rooms (we where upgraded to a suite for free) nice flat screen tv's and the ropom was very clean, the views where lovely also. The best thing about the pearl had to be the staff, they where always very helpful. Upon checkin there was a free bottle of champagne in our room complimentry on the hotel which was nice. The hotel also has a golf course attached which was handy as i play golf and my girlfriend treated me for christmas to a round!!
I would also recommend using the spa especially if you had sunburn like me :-)

On the negative side the hotel menu became very boring after 3-4 days, on the website it makes it seem like there are several different bars and resturants, which there are not, there is a bistro bar/resturant open at all times but the others only open on occasion, plus ensure you book early for a themed night as if you dont you will miss out as we did, it seems odd that they would run several nights yet not be able to cater for all hotel guests. Also the water did go off for 8 hours one day which staff said was down to the storms there had suffered a week earlier. The major problem we encoutered was bites from either very hungry mosqitioes or bed bugs i would side with the latter, after a couple of days my girlfriend requested that we upgrade to a suite, we had booked a ocean view room (which was great!), they didnt have any ocean view suites so they upgraded us (surf and turf suite) to a garden view suite for free (which had views of the harbour). After 1 night our ankles and feet had been bitten to high heaven! we when we informed staff they change the bed straight away.

on the whole we enjoyed the pearl, but on reflection we should have only stayed there for 3-4 days and then moved on, if they manage to address the bars and resturants situation i would happily stay there again for a week.

Oh and itnernet access is 100 fijian dollars for a weeks access which is about 30 english pounds, or you can use the 24 hour package which is 40 fijian dollars

We stayed at the Pearl for a week over NYE. The spot itself is beautiful, although the beach had a lot of debris on it due to the hurricane 2 weeks prior to our arrival. The local staff were lovely and always friendly. However, the food and its lack of variety leaves a lot to be desired. The pearl website leads you to believe that there is a beach bar open every day, a fine dining restaurant (Manta Ray), the Foyer Bar and the Bistro. This is not the case. In the time we were there, the Beach Bar was only open NYE (and the seafood buffet gave me severe food poisoning). Every other night it was listed as being open for Happy Hour but wasn't. Happy Hour was held in the lobby and the only dining options were the Bistro (with about 5 mains to choose from) or nothing. This place would be great if you were staying one or two nights. But don't think about staying longer, unless it is a Friday or Saturday when Mantra Ray is open. And they advertise theme nights, but unless you book early you miss out, and then it is back to the same tired menu you get every night. And there is no decent restaurant within a reasonable distance, so it is the bistro or nothing. By the end of our stay lunch and dinner became a chore. Sure, the view is nice, but if you are thinking about not going to one of the smaller islands because you might feel a little trapped, don't stay here because you will feel just as captive as any remote island.

Pros:

- Hotel is gorgeous with beautifully maintained grounds
- Great activities
- Right on the beach
- Service is great
- Air Con in rooms (nice and strong)
- The media room open 24 hrs where you can relax and watch movies. It really feels like you're at home.

Cons:

- It takes forever (approx 2 hrs) to get to the hotel from Nadi airport but when you get there it's well worth the long trip
- Drinks were not part of the 24 hr room service menu (and I don't mean alcohol)
- Air con is so strong that you needed a blanket and the only one provided was the steel wool type (not good for people with allergies)
- Shower's don't have doors and sometimes shower water would spill out into the room
- There was a group of us, so we made A LOT of room to room phone calls and on check out discovered that each call was 50 cents!!

Stayed at the Pearl for my friend's wedding. The hotel is located in a beautiful part of Fiji although it's isolated from everywhere else. I would definitely recommend getting married at the Pearl and be sure to have Va as one of your organisers she's the Senior Supervisor and her Customer Service is flawless. The housekeeping crew are wonderful also. We had some linen changed at 3 am and our room serviced urgently when we had to get ready for the wedding. Thank you Vara!! The upstairs bar is also a great place to have a few drinks the bar guys are just lovely and have great customer service skills - Thank you Alex and crew! and no task was too great for the reception area.

The Pearl is a quaint resort and while it might have taken a few hours to get there, it was well worth it. We took a group of top clients and all were absolutely thrilled with the impeccable service within the resort. Staff were friendly and happy to help with whatever the request. The resort's restaurants were amazing and the cuisine was outstanding.
A beautiful resort and one we'll visit again in the near future!

No welcome drinks, disinterested person behind the counter and a dead place to stay at. Garden view rooms are just a waste of money, not much of a garden to look out onto from a small balcony. The place was pretty dead at the time of the year and the weather was terrible which meant that you couldn't really be out in the swimming pool or by the beach. No nightlife, limited entertainment finishing at around 7pm. We stopped over the Warwick on our way back and we stunned. Nightclub, fine dining, shopping, much nicer swimming pool with bar. It was still a little windy to be out on beach but a the warwick seemed like a much nicer more happening place to stay at.
