We stayed 5 days at this fantastic place in a hut near to the beach. The hut was spacious for a family on 4. There was no aircon in the hut but that was not a problem because of the nice wind. Just open the windows The shower was behind the hut and had no roof. To take a shower and look at the stars in the night was fantastic. There are a nice sandy beach but the water is a bit muddy. The pool is not that big but its okay if not to many use it. The breakfast is boring after 5 days but the dishes in the restaurant is- wow ! Rarely we had so god food at a hotel. There is thai, india and fiji cosine and its just tastes fantastic. Later we stayed at at international resort and they just could´nt reach the standard of Upprisings cousine . I will also note that the price is fair of the goods the resort sells.

Room Tip: Go for the hut at the beach

Bula Per F,

A big Vinaka for taking a moment to share your recent experience at the Uprising.

You would be pleased to know that as of 01st April, through feedback similar to yours, we have made improvements to our breakfast buffet to now include cooked items. This now gives our guests more variety and options. I am glad to read that our chefs made up for any breakfast shortfalls with their regular menus.

I can only assume that your stay was either just after or during the recent heavy rains and floods that we experienced here in Pacific Harbour. Uprising is surrounded by a number of large rivers and streams and during such heavy rains, this can cause the water close to the shore line to turn muddy as the river pushes the excess rainfall and heavy debris out to sea. I am happy to say that our beach front is back to its usual best and I just posted a picture on our Facebook page (Uprising Fiji) that hopefully you can see :)

Per F, we hope to see you back at the Uprising and we can promise our Beachfront Bure's will be kept just the way you liked it! Vinaka!

Kind regards,

James Pridgeon
General Manager

Late review of this restaurant at Pac Harbour, which we have visited many times since their opening.

Agree with a January contributor that service can be a bit patchy, but food quality is usually spot on. However, have nothing but praise for the service delivered during our last visit for lunch in March. There were at least 35 - 45 passengers from a cruise ship berthed at Suva this day. Cannot praise the staff highly enough for the very competent way they handled this large influx. No hint of stress and smiles all round. In addition the Fiji 7's team was due to check that afternoon on their way to the Tokyo tournament. In addition after lunch when exiting to the car park encountered at least 15 backpackers checking in. Everything handled so smoothly - restaurant and reception - congratulations to both staff and management. With so many people attending in one day a great boost for the Uprising Resort.

Back to the food that day - Chicken Parmiagiana, one of the best had in Pac Harbour for some time Kokoda - equally as good. As usual all served with a smile and a cold, cold beer and mock cocktail. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

Bula Burnier1,

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience at the Uprising Beach Resort.

I am pleased to read your favourable response with regards to our service and this is an area that our team has been working on tirelessly to improve.

It is pleasing to hear that your visit was during one of our busier than normal days and having such large numbers throughout the day can sometimes create added pressure on the team to maintain their service standards. I am proud to read my team reacted to this positively and hopefully exceeded expectations from your previous experiences.

Thanks again for your kind words and I will personally ensure that the beer is still cold and chicken parmigiana available the next time you visit us. Cheers!

We stayed at the Uprising Resort for five nights in the 8 bed dorm room(they also have private garden and beach bures which looked lovely!). It is the cleanest dorm room I've ever seen! There was plenty of space for each person as well as cupboards and a kitchenette along with a modern outdoor shower so you can see the stars or bright blue sky while out there which adds a nice touch. The restaurant serves an excellent range of food from traditional Fijian to typical western cuisine it is also located on a deck overlooking the ocean and pool area which at dusk and night time is lit with candles and lanterns. The staff were absolutely wonderful, they catered to everything we asked/enquired about and always did so with a big smile on their face, especially Wais the man behind the front desk who was always lovely to deal with and super friendly. At the end of our stay our bus to Suva was running an hour late and two lovely staff members stayed with us and continued to ask passer-by's if they'd seen it or knew anything which only made us feel more valued. I would recommend the Uprising to anyone!

Uprising is a great resort for a relaxing weekend. No tropical fish or coral to see (there are a few on a buoy's rope at the bottom, and that was cool to see!) but flat beach with tides. Easy to walk on the beach with bare feet.

We got the deluxe accommodations but they have rooms for all budgets. Breakfast is a simple buffet, but you can also

Tavenica at the Front Desk is wonderful as are all the wait staff. order a la carte

A big thank you for sparing a moment to review the Uprising Beach Resort.

Wais and the Front Desk team are the first and last points of contact at the hotel and I am very pleased to read that they have left a lasting impression. I am also glad you enjoyed your Bure and the Villas are equally as nice with all the modern comforts such as air conditioning as you mentioned.

Davis74, we hope to see you again at Uprising and wish you all the best with your travels.
