“Great Get Together”
Reviewed 27 August 2011

Just spent the afternoon at one of Park Hyatt's salon for a friend's party. It was excellent! The service, the attention to detail, and the view was just amazing. The food, however, could of been better ... the fruits were fresh and good, but the pastries were dry and hard. The room had floor to ceiling windows and at 86th floor you have an amazing view of Shanghai. Will definitely consider having my next party there if they were to improve their food.

My 4 night stay at the Park Hyatt Shanghai provided the ultimate in comfort for a very quick business trip to Shanghai. Arriving late in the evening, the view of the Pearl Tower right outside my room provided a pleasant welcome to this city. The comfortable furnishings, spacious layout, and thoughtful ammenities provided the sense of comfort and welcoming needed for a quick recovery from jet lag. The hotel "lobby" is located on the 87th floor of the Shanghai World Business Center building, thus views of the city are readily available from the lounges and diningrooms located on the 87th and 91th floors. The staff was ever attentitive, always providing a pleasant greeting, assistance when needed, and never intrusive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Bund or Pearl Tower.

I think this is the best hotel in Shanghai and one of the best I've stayed at in the World. I stayed for 2 weeks and despite the fact that it's on the other side of the river, I don't mind the extra commute to get into the city center. The room is modern and airy. The bed is super comfortable. I had a Bund view room and the scene was gorgeous given how high up the hotel is. The bathroom is huge and spa-like with the rainfall shower. The toilet automatically flushes and will cover itself. So awesome.

Service was impeccable. There was always somebody around to assist. Every morning, I'll have at least 3 staff greet me by the lobby. Breakfast is delicious. Hyatt has one of the best breakfasts out of all the hotel chains. Their muesli is so good! Plus there's fresh watermelon and apple juice (that's actually green when it gets to your table before it oxidizes).

There's also complimentary shoe shining and a bowl of fruits that's occasionally changed. Room service is expensive, but a nice treat. There's a variety of Western, Japanese and Chinese dishes.

It's about a 5 minutes walk to the subway/IFC and 10 minutes to the Super Brand Mall. There's a lot of dining options in the IFC and the Super Brand Mall.

Recently spent a long weekend here and really enjoyed it. The rooms were huge (we stayed in the smallest size) and the bathrooms were just amazing. My partner was less impressed with the all singing and dancing toilet with its automatic lid and Christmas lights, but I think that was just down to his age...

The views were spectacular but beware of the window cleaners! They drift down with no warning!

Just the cost really. It was A LOT. I'm still not sure it was quite completely worth it... Don't think I'd be up for a repeat visit, but I like the idea of sleeping above the clouds.

Recently spent 4 nights on the 83rd floor with views of the Bund and Grand Hyatt and was completely amazed.
The following made the stay unforgettable:
1. Spectacular views of Shanghai with the odd cloud just floating past you!
2.The best hotel bathroom I have ever seen: television embedded in bathroom mirror; huge bath that can comfortably accomodate two; an amazing rain shower and a toilet with an automatic lid!
3.The bed was cozy, carpetting plush, and the room climate control was spot on.
4.Tonnes of storage space and really fast internet which was free.
5. The gym though small was tastily decorated and had modern easy to use machines. Heavier dumbells (>10kg) are needed.
6. Swimming pool and hot tub really good.
7. Staff were exceptionally good and very attentive.
The few negatives I have are:
1. Food in the restaurants seemed pricey including breakfast and spa treatments were quite expensive.
2. Room service menu seemed more affordable but limited choice on the menu.
3. Hotel pick up service seemed overpriced. Whereas a private taxi from the airport arrivals hall (airconditioned Buick) charges RMB 350 from Pudong Airport, the hotel limo charges started at 650 (BMW/Mercedes).

Room Tip: Go for the Bund views.

Excellent bedrooms (get a view toward Bund)

Good service

Good dining options - with views

Morning runs (6am) down to river and back were surprisingly quiet
