“Great View”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Stayed at the Park Hyatt Shanghai for two nights in May. We had an excellent experience that began the moment we pulled up to the hotel, the bellman took our bags and we were directed to the lobby (it is a bit of a maze of doors and elevators to get to the lobby of the hotel). We arrived very early, but the front desk was able to expedite our room while we enjoyed the view in the lobby.

We had a Bund view room and luckily the weather was clear during our stay so we had spectacular views of the city and the buildings lit up at night.

The hotel room was surprisingly large with a luxurious bathroom and most importantly a comfortable bed. We really enjoyed the Music Room bar in the hotel as there was live music and a great view of the city at night. There are also a variety of lower priced food options walking distance from the hotel. The MTR station was a short walk away so although we did most of our exploring on the other side of the river it was a quick trip to get everywhere we wanted to go.

We will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in Shanghai. The hotel and the service of the staff exceeded expectations.

Room Tip: Bund view room on the 84th floor

The hotel tries best to be the best I think. It is the highest hotel in shanghai also among the top 10 luxury places. Room decoration is ancient Chinese style. Equipment is very best. Good swimming pool. Lobby is not big but very artistic so that you may like read there with a cup of tea. Lovely !

This is a fantastic hotel. Rooms are large and decorated with a nice modern feel. The view is nice but you don't get to see it much. We stayed 8 nights in May and only had about 3 day clear enough to look out. Close to all the shops. It has 3 nice restaurant onsite.

I saw Park Hyatt Shanghai pool in Skyfall movie, and decide I have to stay there at least.
Then on the last trip to China, I spent 2 nights at the hotel.
Normally I prefer small boutique hotel, whereas Park Hyatt is a big hotel with hundred rooms.
The room is elegant with modern furniture, and nothing can complained about.
The best thing with me is the pool with absolutely stunning view to the city, especially in night time.
Breakfast in Hyatt Hotel is always a bliss, various choices with tasty foods.

Just spent the night at the Park Hyatt in Shanghai. The room was extremely efficient. The view was cloudy and rainy, but if it had been clear. WOW!
Staff was helpful and the spa, workout facilities, and pool were clean, and extremely nice. Highest pool in the world? Walking distance to all downtown locations on the elevated walkway. Expensive

Room Tip: Facing the Huangpu River is beautiful at night...when you can see!

I only stayed here for 1 night after staying 2 nights at Hyatt On The Bund. My room was on the 83rd floor which was neat but the view from my room wasn't nearly as good as HOTB. The Park Hyatt pool and hot tub was nicer than HOTB but the gym was a lot smaller. The hotel also provides complimentary shoe shinning which was a nice touch. Overall, both are nice hotels but I would probably stay at HOTB the next time I'm in Shanghai.

It is a bit difficult to get taxis from the 1st floor of the hotel but it is within walking distance to two very big shopping malls. The most disappointing part of the hotel was lunch at the lobby restaurant. I ordered a 140 RMB club sandwich which ended up tasting like something I can get at a gas station in the US. Its definitely not up to US Hyatt restaurant standards. My girlfriend ordered noodles for lunch which didn't taste right to her. They tried remaking them but they still came out bad. However, the waitress was very friendly and did comp my girlfriend's lunch so we only had to pay for the sandwich (which I only ate 1/3 of). It was also annoying that the cheapest water at the restaurant was 60+ RMB. Should have just got some of the free bottles which the hotel provides to guests.

If you get the chance, definitely spend a night at this hotel. Also check out the hotel bar which has pretty neat views of the city. There are many restaurants in the shopping malls outside of the hotel which are very good. I'd recommend those over eating at the hotel.

Very much the prestige business hotel. The rooms are well designed and equipped, boasting a great view of the river if you face that way.
The dining room was good although delberately dimly lit to allow you to enjoy the view at night which means you need a torch to read the menu.
Good gym and pool.
It is within walking distance of 2 or 3 huge shopping centres which would cater for all tastes.
I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt but on balance I think this may be better.
