As advertised, Quintet BNB was a perfect location for our 10 day stay in Shanghai. Located in the middle of the French Concession, we were able to access a variety of local food establishments, all within easy walking distance. Kenny and Angela are great hosts and did their best to accommodate our needs. We stayed in the Grand Cathay room which was very comfortable and had the essential A/C necessary to survive the warm muggy August weather. The unit was pleasantly quiet even though it is located about the first floor dining area which doubles as an evening restaurant on weekends while also being the area of guests at breakfast. A couple of downers- our bathroom access required a climb up a small, narrow staircase which could be a challenge to older or larger guests. The bedroom itself was a bit "tired" for and could use a touch up as well. However, the biggest let down was that on our second to last night there was a private party in the restaurant area where the guests were allowed to smoke. I found this surprising since virtually everyone up to that point in our stay went outside to smoke. As the evening wore on, the smoke permeated the dining area (doors were shut so there was no ventilation) and eventually we started smelling it in our room.
