This a modern, nicely furnished hotel is about 3 minutes from the terminals at Shanghai Pudong Airport. But the quality of service is poor compared to the high cost of staying here.

The hotel itself is a well appointed copy of a large western hotel: inside the building you'd be hard pressed to work out what country you are in. The rooms are large, and well equipped, and there is a useful and frequently free shuttle bus to / from the airport terminal.

The hotel is expensive - twice the price per night compared to the good hotel in Nanjing I stayed in the nights previous to this visit. But despite this premium, the service levels are poor, and apart from the wifi *everything* costs extra. The check-in (and check-out) teams struggled to speak English (odd given the airport location), and the bulk of the conversations I had with them involved them explaining how if I wanted to do that I would have to pay more.

By way of example, I got upgraded to a room on the "Executive" floor - which has a "lounge" for people on the floor offering drinks and a simple breakfast in the morning. In other locations some or all of the things offered in the lounge are free - but here a cup of (machine generated) black coffee cost $10, and breakfast was offered at a disturbing $25. The only conversation I had with the person monitoring the room concerned agitated attempts to explain that anything I wanted to would be possible for a fee (e.g. printing out boarding pass, having a coffee, eating any of the food provided): the only phrase in English the person had nailed was "you pay". Disappointing.

TV channel choice was standard international - so English language restricted to a few 24 hour news channels and some US movies, but good enough. Wifi was free but lamentably slow, and heavily restricted.

Hard to find any ground to recommend apart from location.

Would like to advise you that we provide FREE internet and WIFI in all the Guest Rooms and Public Areas.
The South Building and the Center Building rooms are newly renovated, including the Executive Floor Lounge who has a fresh and new look.
The North Building’s room renovation project will come to an end by end of October, which means we will have 385 newly renovated rooms available for our guests.
The renovation of the Front Office Counter and part of the Lobby (North Building) has started in July 2014 and should be completed by November 2014.
You will see for yourself of the changes we made and it is a big turnaround of this place, now it is airy, bright and modern!

Well located to catch an early flight out from PVG. Room comfortable, good night's sleep, no noise from outside. Restaurant OK.

Was surprised to be asked to pay to use exec lounge, despite reserving room on exec floor - I declined.

The Brasserie’s renovation has been completed and the New Brasserie has reopened on 28th of January, 2013. You will see for yourself of the changes we made and it is a big turnaround of this place, now it is airy, bright and modern!

Booked the Ramada for my son. His flight arrived at PVG, on time, at 23.25. When he had cleared immigration, and customs it was 12 midnight. The last Ramada shuttle leaves at 23.45. This presented a problem. Shanghai taxi drivers are notorious at the airport for not taking short distance fares. I can sympathise with their viewpoint. However, My son spent almost an hour trying to get a taxi to take him the short distance to the hotel. He needed the taxi because he was laden with two large luggage bags. He only managed this because he can speak some Mandarin and employed the local police to order the taxi driver to take his fare. (This is not unusual for foreigners at Chinese airports). His stay at the hotel was restful and spent in a pleasant room. I can only express surprise that the Ramada does not operate the shuttle into the early hours of the morning. My son's flight was with Emirates, a major international carrier, and there are many other flights arriving at that time and a little later. This point must have been raised many times before with the hotel's customer relations.

I had a business trip to Shanghai and decided to stay in this hotel because of the location so close to the airport. Easy to move to the Maglev and from there to any part of the city. The hotel has guests pick up to and from the airport so that is really helpfull when you decide to ride the Maglev to any other train station. The hotel is a big hotel, clean, and the staff was pretty helpfull. Big rooms, cashier, pharmacy , restaurantes, and all what a traveller might need inside the hotel.

This is a basic business class hotel very close to the Shanghai Pudong airport. Rooms are tastefully done, but not elaborate. Restaurant is good. Very nice breakfast buffet. Prompt shuttle service to the airport terminal. Friendly staff. Consider staying here if you have any early flight as the airport is a long taxi ride from the city center.

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times, experience was pleasent. However, be warned the hotel can quickly turn you away after guaranteeing a reservation, as happened to me last Thursday night. I had to make alternative arrangements and stayed in the Royal International Shanghai hotel, where I will be staying in the future.
