“A decent place to stay”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in September 2012. The hotel was fine, close to shopping mall in case You want to buy something or want to have a meal at some local restaurants. The hotel is situated next to a main traffic road and no matter what time it is, it takes extremelly long to cross the road. The hotel is relatively closed to the international airport.

The suite was big enough for two people with a separate sleeping part. My suite had a great view on Shaghai (14th floor). A bathroom could be a bit bigger, but still okay. I am not sure if it was only a problem at our suite, but the door could not have been opened with an electronic key for the first time. It sometimes took good 5 minutes to get into the suite.

Nothing against the staff, but they can barely speak in English. So if you require/ want something beyond the standard, it will definitely take some time they even get your point. Wifi works without problems even in the suite.

Both continental and chinese food available during the breakfast - but still they could offer a better variety of pastry. You should reserve more time for Your breakfast than usually due to a limited number of available tables. It took at least 10 minutes each morning to find a table for four.

Staff are ok. Only few know English speaking. Rooms are ok but very very small not as per what I read on the website about the room. I didnt have good sleep as I can easily hear the sound of upstairs and neighbors rooms. Although I had stayed shanghai for three nights I changed the hotel the next morning. Not preferable for my part.

We stayed here for 6 nights , we were on the 19th floor the room is ok the carpets like most people have reported is not been cleaned in awhile, the towels on some days have hole in it. And in 6 days they did not change our sheets, this was our first time to china so I was not sure what to expected , the breakfast was not included in our rooms price, but our first day we did have try it . It was 80 per person and that is was very expensive for what you get, but if you get it for free it's fine.
The front desk does not speak much English , but the concierge guys speak some English and they are very helpful , ask for Steven he was great. There is a large mall about 10 min walk , go to exit 2 and look for the elphants and around the corner there is a Pizza Hut were you can get a breakfeast America style coffee and for 35 . The menus have picture , the mall shopping there is very expensive more then at home. We took a cab to town every day one way was around 35 .
But public transit is at the mall is well.

Recently stayed in Ramada Hotel Shanghai Wujiaochang for two nights, which was the second time in 4 years, and noted that not much changed.
The hotel is located relatively close to the Pudong airport and in a less crowded district of Shanghai. Its Rooms are quite large, however, floor carpets in the room are with multiple large dirt stains and water marks (as was 4 ears ago). The bathroom has water stains and molds on the shower curtain and along the tiles above the bathtub, as well as around the bottom of the toilet.
Breakfast is included and it is good. They offer large Chinese-food selection, and a second dining room with western type food with more limited selections.

Over all this hotel might be graded as "Good"

One caution is though a posted Government rating of FAIR for their latest health inspection, which is posted at the lobby tucked on a wall (not readily visible). The sign reads: "Publicity of Health Credibility in Accommodation" The grade received was "B", "C is worse, A is being best.

Room Tip: Try to request a room with a clean/cleaner floor carpets and bathroom.

The hotel lives up to its brand name. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a great view of Shanghai from the upper floors. The bathrooms are well equipped. Breakfast was elaborate with both Continental and Chinese fare. The staff are friendly but language is a problem. The main disavantage is the distance from the main city area, the Bund and Pudong areas and the airport. To go to the Bund, one needs to take a cab (costs about 35 Yuan) or walk for about 10minutes to the metro station (Wujiaochang station, fare- 4Yuan) and take the Line 10 to Nanjing Road East, from where it is again a 7-8 minutes walk to the Bund river promenade area. We took a cab from the hotel(the concierge helped us) but returned by the metro. We did get off at the correct station but got hopelessly lost for quite a while. Although we had the hotel card with us, no one could help us, mainly because of the language problem - no one knew English. Finally we found our way with the help of a map of Shanghai which I was luckily carrying! The road signages are in English also and that helped us.The airport is more than an hour away by a cab/bus. There is a mall not far from the hotel where there is a KFC and a well stocked departmental store. The hotel has an ATM.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a great view.
