Not even sure where to start with wat is now my beloved Indigo Hotel on the Bund!!!!
To begin with, 3 very tired American gals arrived at the hotel at 5pm Dec 18 after flying for 24 hrs and were greeted with a smile from everyone at the hotel. Check in was a breeze and we were escorted to our FABULOUS Bund view rooms. The rooms are amazing. Beautifully decorated and so very comfortable and large by Western standards.. We had a separate shower that had a killer view of the Bund while you showered. It was tough to find enough plugs for our mobile devices. I’m hoping that was just our room and not a systemic problem at the Indigo.
The staff could not have been kinder, more professional and more helpful. Every day they would graciously write out in Mandarin where we wanted to go for our taxis.
We had cocktails at Char Lounge first night and then dinner at CHAR afterwards. Dinner was good, not great, but prices were astronomical. I probably would not do CHAR again, but would go back to the lounge a thousand time thanks to our great server Lee.
The view from Char lounges’ outdoor bar is nothing short of spectacular. Don’t miss going out here.
Although we did not partake of fitness room, the pool is magnificent and and infinity pool overlooking the Bund.
Overall, the hotel was fabulous, staff was great and for under $300 a night, a steal in Shanghai.
