“6 days in Shanghai”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

We have just left Shanghai after staying at a Hotel a Indigo. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, everything from the rooms to the breakfasts to the staff was excellent. The bathtub overlooked the river and the Bund, amazing views. It was so cool but so unassuming too ( a rare combination) highly recommended

Hope that you had a pleasant and safe trip home. It was such a pleasure to have you with us over the last week and certainly look forward to welcoming you back to Shanghai and Hotel Indigo.

Julie our Director of F&B and resident Ausie and her team have been working hard to make the breakfast experience one which will just start off the day right regardless if you are a foreign or domestic guest... something for everyone...

Much like the hotel itself... there is something for everyone to enjoy and look forward to returning to again in the future... which we hope we have accomplished with your recent stay as well.

Excellent in every way and definitely the hotel where I will stay next time when I will go to Shanghai with my wife. The very friendly staff showed me 3 different rooms to make sure I was completely happy. The views are stunning and so are the rooms. This is the feel of a unique, cosy boutique hotel with the professional organization and management of the major "safe bet" hotel operators. And of course the location is great for both business and pleasure! (loved the nearby "Cool Docks", certainly worth a visit!)

Room Tip: Best rooms are the x008 rooms with view on the bund and the Shanghai Skyline across the river.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel the service was amazing. We felt like nothing was too much to ask. Our room was spectacular with wonderful views over the river. Unfortunately we had trouble with our bathroom door and the front desk immediately upgraded us to a larger room. The view was again the main attraction. We looked down over the Bund and river which was particularly beautiful at night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this lovely city.

Hotel Indigo puts you right in the heart of Shanghai near all the interesting sites. The hotel staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. Our room had a beautiful view of the Bund. This was a trip our family will never forget.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Bund.

I have been staying at the Peace Hotel when I come to Shanghai since its renovation, but have become increasingly unhappy with the quality of the breakfast and the cutbacks big and small over the years. I decided to try a new hotel on this trip, and chose Indigo based on the reviews on tripadvisor and its location. I was pleasantly surprised by the tasteful deco, the views, the service and the quality of the breakfast. We were greeted by several helpful and pleasant bellboys as we stepped out of the car. The clerk at the front desk was professional and patient when I did not have my IHG member number handy. Because of my membership status, we were offered free upgrade to a corner room on the 20th floor with sweeping views of the Bund and the river, and free breakfast. The pool is large enough to do lap swim and again there is the same sweeping view from the pool. The room is nicely decorated with hardwood floor and the bathroom is large and well designed with deep soaking tub (and bath salts), spacious shower and organic bath products. We loved the buffet breakfast, which provides good quality, healthy foods. My daughter enjoyed squeezing her own orange juice every morning, and we liked the quality and choices of the fruits, breads, etc. The smoking salmon was good too. Over the last 10 years, I found it to be increasingly difficult to find international chain hotels in Shanghai with decent breakfast food. My daughter also loved the Easter Bunny who greeted us this morning. When I realized after dinner that my 6-year-old daughter must have left her iPhone in the dining room this morning, I thought it would be extremely unlikely for us to see that phone ever again, but decided to call the restaurant anyway. The front desk called within minutes, and asked us to go and identify the iPhone they found with the password... Overall during our three day stay, everyone we encountered was courteous, professional, competent, and eager to help. We will definitely come back!

Greetings jscdjjk-

First allow me to thank you for taking to heart the many wonderful reviews hotel Indigo has received here on TripAdvisor and giving us a chance to demonstrate to you how seriously we take the goal of making all our new guests fans looking to return to hotel Indigo time and time again.

Breakfast, as you noted is that most important meal as it sets the mood and the pace for the rest of the day. The team have been working really hard to try to cover all the bases of both local and international guests to make sure that we have lots of high quality - yummy - tasty food to tempt any guest and/or introduce them to some of the fantastic local neighborhood foods.

Very much look forward to welcoming you back to Shanghai and the Hotel Indigo.

Located directly on the Bund, the Hotel Indigo in Shanghai not only has some great views of the river, but just a very cool vibe. The food was excellent, with a decidedly Western/Asian fusion flare. Even the music playing in the restaurants was elegant and trendy. My room was a delight, with more of a bedroom loft feel than a hotel room. Great place for business or pleasure trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river (Bund) if you can, as the opposite side had a building construction site...

Excellent hotel at a very good location. The room I stayed was without any doubt the most beautiful I ever stayed in. Very comfortable indeed. Large shower room. Above average breakfast buffet, nice restaurants and bar, all good service. We could use meeting rooms for working; there is also a library. Also we had a problem outside the hotel and the director and security manager helped us solve it. I hope I can come back and stay there!

Dear Luis B-

We would of course love to have you back for another stay anytime - just reach out to me personally to help you make any needed arrangements.

Yes, the idea behind the design for the hotel is our ability to be many things to different guests at the same time, to offer an atmosphere which is relaxed and enjoyable yet professional and of the highest quality.

We want you to feel as though you are at home but with the added benefit of a highly trained and motivated staff of colleagues all around you to ensure that nothing is left to chance and that we do this out of a love for what we do ... and not because we are following some dusty policy and procedure.

many wishes for safe and pleasant travels home-
