My husband, adult daughter and I stayed at the Indigo for three nights last month on a short stopover en route to London. We wished we could have stayed longer!
We could not fault anything from the service, to the comfort of the rooms, to the food, to the fabulous location overlooking the Bund.
We arrived after a long-haul flight before our room was ready, but we were welcomed up to the restaurant for the most fantastic breakfast and to kill some time taking in our first sights of Shanghai - the Bund, the Huangpu River and Pudong. The food and beverage director (think that was her title), Julie, was superb and made us feel very welcome, as well as providing us with a lot of useful information and advice about Shanghai sights.
While I'm on the food - I may as well mention the daily breakfasts which included divine Bircher muesli, fruit, cold cuts, breads, cheeses etc, plus a range of cooked breakfasts. Fantastic!
Our room was a beautiful corner room with an amazing view. Probably the most memorable aspect was standing under the rainfall shower looking out at the barges making their way up the river! But the beds were also super comfy with lovely crisp linen.
There was a very useful relaxation area and business centre which we used. We didn't use the pool but it looked lovely.
The location was great. A comfortable stroll down the Bund to Nanjing Road, close to the Yu Garden and a short taxi ride to most of the places we wanted to go.
The Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund is a wonderful hotel and I would love to re-visit. I highly recommend it.
