A wonderful easy walk along the Bund in the day or evening is a must during your visit to Shanghai. The architecture of the old and new blend together perfectly. Great to just sit and watch the busy waterway & people watch as seating is readily available along the Bund walk. Washrooms are located at intervals under the overhead walkway.

Great view of river, would be great at night,we were there during the day ,but I could imagine how it would look at night ,but it could be difficult seeing too far for the smoke haze ( smog )

So what do you do when you finally come of age?
You show of off course!
And so it is with Shanghai.

By day her numerous skyscrapers grace the heavens and the wondrous architect designed buildings intrude unashamedly onto the landscape in every direction. Her freeways that circle and join each other are perched atop concrete pillars that have yet to lose their colour, her modern train systems crisscross the city and join each other with limitless ease, there are no timetables here, there are just trains, regular, clean and efficient.

By night she puts on her makeup and displays herself at her brilliant best. It seems like every modern skyscraper in the new district is trying to outdo each other with their brilliant full height facades ablaze with vibrant, ever changing colours, patterns and designs that punch the night sky with brash proudness. Her massive bridges that span her Huangpu river are themselves covered with rivers of lights that change and flow just like the river itself

Shanghai, a city that has come of age, an opulent, vibrant, youthful and colourful example of the new millennium proudly displaying itself for the world to see, and see her you must.

I always try to take an evening walk down the Bund should I be in the city and staying in the Nanjing Road area. I love the river walk and looking at the lights and people. The place somehow still give me a feel of the old Shanghai glory days. It is still very much a glorious city.
