“No customers service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

Nice room, but on 3 sides of building , crazy noice link proximity of Highway and main Shanghai bridge.
Reception and check in have poor organization, 1 or 2 people serve , no clear queue, everybody jump in front of you, no management.
Compare 1 year ago, thes hotel management level decrease a lot , maybe some Head change.
Few people consider foreign customers , no polite welcoming.
No basic service, no umbrella in room and in concierge.no taxi .no any help or guidance.
Room service , is disater 1h to order one dish.
Restaurant, half of dish on meneu can not provide.price of wine are wrong or wine unvailable..

Hotel to avoid, maybe too good business with group, but you could find same level in downtown for same price 450-500 rmb, with a much better service.
No shop inside , first small shop need walk 10-15mn.

Bad experience , a pity , link management, not reach 3-4 stars for internationnal standard..

John

Room Tip: room on bund view, others too noisy!!

This hotel was very clean & comfortable. They had a good range on offer for breakfast. The beds were comfortable but firm. The foyer was very impressive with a large sweeping staircase the there were shops in the lobby as well which was good for last minute shopping.

The first 4 days of a 2 week tour of China were spent in this beautiful hotel. We had a very large, beautifully appointed room with an amazing view of the city. The room was very hot at night & we had to request that the air conditioning be turned on. The breakfast buffet was excellent and there iwas free internet in the lobby. We did venture out into the old shanty town at the back of the hotel and it was really like stepping back in time.

This was our fifth of 10 hotels on our tour. Hotel located in east end of city 20-minutes by car to downtown. Large lobby area beautiful but without seating. We were given a very nice room overlooking the 6-lane expressway a mere 50-metres away. The combination of the traffic noise, wind whistle through the windows frames, malfunctioning A/C and broken bar fridge was intolerable. We asked for and were given a room on the opposite side which overlooks downtown - much better. Room was clean, spacious, beds comfy and bathroom very nicely appointed. Wired internet connection in rooms very expensive, Wi-Fi free in lobby. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. If you stay here, make time to walk through the shanty town at the rear of the hotel - it is like stepping back 100-years! Star rated at 5/7, our rating 5/7.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room facing downtown.

I was here with a tour group. I found it very nice. Breakfast buffet had a very large selection, the best we had had in China. The room was clean but many of us had issues with the temperature in the room. The lounge and its staff were good, no complaints here. English was spoken well enough in the lounge. I did have language problems with the front desk, but I had a tour guide to intervene.

We stayed as part of a group on a tour in this hotel. It was Fine - but that's it - the Most disappointing thing was the cleanliness of the furniture in the suite. We had a settee that was in disgusting repair - stains everywhere - not a Chance we would sit on it - and this is supposed to be a hotel that caters to Westerners? Oh well - NICE still fits - the bed was clean - and that's what counts.

I've been to Shanghai many times and chose this hotel for a conference I was attending. Even though it is technically a western brand the experience was anything but. I think I was the only westerner in the hotel the first two days.

The staff are friendly and some are attentive but language WILL be a problem for those who don't know how to get around in this part of the world.

The location is also remote in the sense there is really nothing immediately in the area for shopping or dining......you really need to expect to eat here unless you want a taxi somewhere else.

There are two dining place. For dinner one is Buffett style...expensive for the quality and selection. The other is a well appointed Chinese restaurant where no one spoke English, and was mind numbingly expensive.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the rates were a bit better than many, but that was quickly eaten up in taxi and meal charges.

For a Wyndham I was disappointed and doubt I stay here again.
