I was here for a few days and I loved this hotel. The lobby was a little cramped but the hotel rooms were fantastic. Service level of the staff was also good and the areas surrounding the hotel was enough to go around and window shop.

Shanghai has many good hotels but the Langham Xintiandi is in a very good location, has a great executive floor and a couple of terraces that are a lot of fun in Summer (either for private parties or just going to the restaurants). An excellent choice in Shanghai.

Dear glxtokyo,
Thank your very much for your review of The Langham Xintiandi on Tripadvisor. Both the Alfreso dining on level 1 and XTD Elevated on level 5 are indeed popular destinations especially in the evenings for outdoor dining during the warm weather months. Liked everything about this hotel when staying even for just one night. Room was spacious and modern. Gym was acceptable but not large. Staff were always eager to help. Right next to Xintiandi district so easy to walk for restaurant and entertainment options. Busy area so easy to get a cab.

Just spent a couple nights here, hotel is on the northern end of Xintiandi which is a ten minutes cab right from many cute restaurants to the west and a ten min cab ride to the bund on the east side of Puxi

The room was comfortable with great choice of tea and coffee machine, really nice expensive wine/champagne/water glasses, nice large bathrooms, large floor to ceiling windows.

Only issue I had was there was no "no disturb sign" to hang so housecleaning rang our doorbell at nine am on Sat when we were sleeping in from a late flight arrival. Perhaps the sign was next to my bed panel but I didn't see it.

Otherwise a nice newer hotel to base oneself in while in this vibrant city.

Dear Anilegna,
Thank you very much for your post on Tripadvisor and we are glad you found the hotel conmfortable and a potential base for other visits to the city. I have made a note of your comment about being disturbed by the housekeeping department and we will review our current procedure to ensure our guests are not inconvenienced especially when they arrive late in the night. As you have mentioned, we do have a Do not disturb button on the bedside panel for activation . We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again to The Langham Xintiandi.

I travel constantly around Asia/Pacific, and it is very few hotels that really stand out, however the Langham Xintiandi does! It is absolutely one of my favourite hotels, not only do I stay there whenever I am in Shanghai, I hold my small functions or events there whenever I can.

I highly recommend Langham Xintiandi to all my friends and clients. Everybody to whom I have recommended, without exception, they have all said they loved their stay and it too was now their favourite hotel.

After a long day of Shanghai manic-ness (not a bad thing) it is always such a delight to be greeted by the fabulous Langham team on the driveway, the doors and in the lobby. It is rare that I can say that I truly enjoy staying at a hotel and that in fact look forward to getting there every time. Rooms are great! staff are great! pool is great and the gym is great!

The Langham Xintiandi's rooms are quite intuitive, in that everything is where it should be, including the great views with the floor to ceiling windows and spacious bathrooms. Having a Nespresso Machine makes for a great first coffee of the day.

If you can upgrade to The Langham Lounge, do it!

The experience of outstanding of the Langham Lounge team's service in the way the staff welcome you back by name, making for a tremendous way to relax and spend time, looking out over Shanghai.

The Langham Xintiandi is a pleasure and a privilege to experience, it is undoubtedly my favourite hotel!

If you are travelling to Shanghai and considering to stay at the Langham Xintiandi....endulge yourself and be sure to do it!

Room Tip: If do want to request a room type with a view looking south over Xintiandi....but have stayed many t...

The Langham in Shanghai has all the luxury you would associate with its elder brother in London. Plus it is bang in the middle of Shanghai's version of Covent Garden and Bond Street, surrounded by chic restaurants and eye-watering boutiques. In a way it is all predictably wonderful, but there's one touch of genius that made me chuckle. Fall out of bed in the middle of the night and a light magically comes on to guide your way to the loo. I won't spoil your fun by telling you what the loo does when you get there, but let's say it is automatic. Enjoy!

This is quite a chic hotel. The design is contemporary, a lot of pink colour touch. So if you do not like that colour, this may not appeal to you. The surrounding neighbourhood is interesting. Just across the road, there is a stretch of restaurants, pubs, and cafes. A couple of blocks away, you will reach public parks for your morning exercise. The service is attentive and the room is very modern, clean, and well designed.
