I stumbled on Hengshan looking for a bite to eat close to my hotel (Regal International East Asia), and this restaurant is quite near it. The atmosphere is nothing special--there is nothing fancy at this place, but it is reasonably clean. The menu is extensive with most dishes cooked Cantonese style. I ordered the soup of the day (broth with some pork and mushrooms in it) that was served piping hot, spicy pork in a garlic sauce (very well made), white rice and a bottle of beer. This was more than enough food for one and cost 82 RMB (about $12 US).

The service was good (though typically Chinese--the burden is on you to call someone over when you want something). None of my servers spoke English, but the menu had good descriptions of the dishes, so don't be worried if you don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese.

On the way going to see ppl for the meeting, I suddenly felt hungry and jumped in to this restaurant.
It's not easy to go to the restaurants in China by myself only because the atmosphere of the Chinese restaurants are usually with ppl with groups and kind of noisy... but I didn't feel uncomfortable at all for this restaurant and at the Chinese restaurants, usually the portion of the dish is big but not that big for this place. The taste of food is acceptable for the price you pay.

Not big, not flashy, but very good Cantonese food on Hengshan Road. A bit pricier than many of the local places, but very good for a casual meal.

Really near my home so I go there all most every month,
Most of the food tastes really good--if u like Cantonese of course, and it is not expensive, average hot dish price is around 40 -50 rmb, you can also buy the BBQ pork or other stuff at the windows and take away, it's a bit cheaper compare with u eat in the restaurant

Long time favorite of mine. Consistent quality and authentic. The service is warm and friendly too. Just time your visit carefully to avoid the long queue.
