Well, I'll start with the good thing: This is a relatively new 4 star hotel, so furnitures are nice, bed is comfortable and bathroom is good (and I can do what I love: using the shower and the rain shower at the same time - the rating is for that). There was one person that could speak English at the reception (but it's not always the case).
The bad things:
We changed rooms 2 times in 3 nights. When we arrived, we were given 2 good rooms on the 18th floor, a non smoking floor. The air in these rooms was good by the way, so you might want to try the 18th floor if you don't smoke and dare stay there. The only thing is that we had twin bed rooms when we booked double bed rooms.
So I asked for 2 double bed rooms. At first, they tried to make us believe that a double bed room really means a room with 2 beds. We insisted and they finally said ok, we'll give you new rooms. So we had new double bed rooms on the 8th floor, with cigarette smell. The room was not very clean. I mean, it was globally clean except in some areas where obviously nobody ever cleaned. Anyway, the bed was indeed comfortable and we started to sleep.
Little did I know that there was going to be construction noise starting at 1:00am. Very Loud construction noise. As in, "guys, let's use drills and hammers through the walls". When people started to complain, they said they were doing some work on the 6th floor and made sure the 6th floor was empty so it should be ok. When a lot of people complained, they finally said that they'll do something about it and indeed the noise stopped. As it turned out, there was a chinese note saying that some construction were ongoing. We can bear some noise but it's the level of noise that was totally unexpected and just impossible to accept.
The construction work started again at 6:30 (I checked) in the morning. Later I went to the reception and asked about the construction. They said that yes it started at 7:00 and it'll stop at 12:00 but it'll be so for some days. I then requested new rooms as high as possible. The new rooms were double bed rooms in a smoking floor. It was a little less noisy but the rooms were not so clean either. Strangely enough, the dirty areas were different in these rooms than in the previous ones. And there was mold in the shower (aren't there people that are supposed to clean the bathroom everyday?). It's as if the same people always clean the same floors and they always do the same mistakes. And it's like that on different floors. And no one ever checks.
All in all, it is what could have been a good hotel but end up being a bad place mainly because of management issues and a lot of those small things that pile up and just ruin your stay. I expect the good furnitures to soon turn bad if nothing changes.
