I had already stayed at this hotel about 4-5 years ago, and I really loved it for the view it offered (see my older review), so I decided to come back here. However, I have been really disappointed. The hotel changed management, and (new?) staff was quite unpleasant. The overall room conditions, already not “great” at the time, were appreciably worst. In the room I received, the shower practically did not work (the temperature continuously and chaotically oscillated between way too hot and way too cold). The breakfast, which I remembered with pleasure, practically disappeared, and had been substituted with a prepackaged couple of muffins, served in one of the rooms, readapted for the occasion. The price was quite high. Overall, I would not suggest to come here.

Stayed an extra night in Shanghai after a family cruise. We had a three bedroom, two bath with full kitchen and living room. Rooms were large, but stains on walls and carpet. Mattress was very hard; could have been sleeping on the floor. No sound proofing. Could here voices thru walls. TV stations were all Chinese. Only one in English. Don't get the pre-paid breakfast. It was pre-packaged in a box. Don't know what was inside. There was a Starbucks across the bridge. Good views, but windows too dirty for good pictures. Note: water heaters are on switches, so make sure they're turned on! Stand alone shower was small like a the ones on cruise ships. Price was $208USD.

Room Tip: The higher the better.

Where to start, I think the best part of this hotel is the door on the way out. I booked this hotel after looking for a reasonably priced hotel on the Bund. the majority of the reviews seemed ok here. As soon as we entered the cold reception area it just felt odd. The staff were all rugged up and spoke virtually no English. We exited the lift on the 10th floor and it was like walking into a smokers den, you could see the smoke haze. I asked for a non smoking room. The whole floor stunk of cigarettes. On entering the room there was a gent sat watching the TV, at least i know that works. He quickly muttered and exited. I booked a 2 bedroom suite with river view. Yep it had 2 bedrooms and a river view . The carpet had stains and crusty sections. the coffe table had stick rings from cups left by previous occupants. The bed was as if the mattress was missing and the base was there. Concrete with a sheet! The kitchen has no cooking utensils not even a spoon. The bathroom well, disgusting, like and old public toilets where you dont want to sit. see the pictures its easier to see. and the hole in the ceiling above the shower? possible security camera ? if after reading this and you still book it well your a fool. We left afetr 1 hour , cost us half a day, walked 15 mins to les Suites Orient on the Bund and had the bset week of luxury, 5star plus this should;s be not the panoramo 1 star.

Visited 8/11-11/11/12. Deluxe river view room 20th floor, fabulous views of the river, the Bund and Pudong. Room very spacious and clean, can't fault that. I think the hotel also serves as serviced appartments, so has that feel rather than that of a bustling hotel. A big let down was the breakfast or lack of it. Whilst the breakfast restaurant (27th floor?) is being refurbished the hotel is temporairily handing out breakfast boxes in an adjoining area of the reception area. These boxes contain a boiled egg, fruit and a couple of buns, coffee and tea are available. A totally
inadequate and shoddy way to treat guests, most of whom, seemed to take the boxes back to the rooms rather than sit in the austere ante chamber of the reception area. Surely it could not have been too difficult to established temporary cooking facilities and provide some sort of breakfast expected in a hotel like that.
Overall the room (deluxe river view) was adequate with views to die for. Reception and concierge services helpful and reasonably efficient. The location excellent. The views gave it the rating v.good, otherwise v.average.

Room Tip: Book deluxe river view room.

It is a budget hotel in perfect spot. I don’t think they keep up with maintenance as it already shows wear and tear considering it is quite new building. I did pay a bit extra to have Pudong view and would highly recommend that. That is the best aspect of the hotel, the rest is a bit hit and miss. Bedroom was big with separate sitting area, carpet dirty, windows from floor to ceiling with superb views. Bathroom ok, breakfast horrible, went once and gave up. Walking distance to The Bund, not much around hotel itself.

Staff friendly

This hotel is a nightmare. We made a reservation for 2 rooms, but when we arrived, the guy at the front desk said we only booked for 1 room and that there was no other room available, which was untrue since the people behind us had no reservation but were able to get 3 rooms. In the room we had, the toilet, the phone and the A/C were not working properly and the mattress was uncomfortable. We had to pay 78 RMB each for the breakfeast and it was not good at all. Yes, this hotel is not that expensive considering the location, but I would never recommend it.

This hotel commands one of the best views in the world today and is aptly named.
The Bund in itself is a wonder and is 400 mts from the front door but the river ......my gosh the HungPo travels right past your window and is absolutely crowded with all type of boats.
We spent hours just looking out of the hotel window exposed to barges, pleasure craft, police baots andnavy vessels.
Glance to the left and you have a mind boggling light show up and down the sides of some of the highest buildings in Shanghai .
Top hotel as well!

Room Tip: Ask for the river view the extra few dollar is worth it.
