“Sky Lobby Gem In Old Shanghai”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

I made my first visit to the JW Marriott in Shanghai for two nights. I thought it was excellent. After being dropped off by my taxi, I took the elevator from the entrance to the sky lobby on the 38th floor to check-in. The lobby is a nice place with a splendid view. Breakfast is served on that level and there is a nice spot for drinks too. My room was on the 50th floor, looking out over people's park and down the main shopping street towards the Bund (about 2 km away). My room was very comfortable with a king bed, desk, a nice chair and foot rest. There was plenty of room in the closet and drawers and a safe. The bathroom was also very nice with a good glass shower stall and a tub. My only small complaint about the room is it only had one electrical outlet on the desk, but there was another one in easy reach on a sideboard by the closet. The hotel has a nice executive lounge with a very helpful friendly staff. I believe they have some sorts of food and drink available from 6 am - 11 pm. They offer wine, beer, juice and snacks from around 3 pm -9 pm with a wider choice of food, including some nice sweets, starting at 5:30 pm. The views from the lounge are good. The hotel is in a good location. One of Shanghai's main shopping areas is right outside and so are nice historical buildings. You can walk to the Bund in about 20-30 minutes and it is a good walk with lots of street activity and shopping and eating places. There is a subway station at People's Park, just across the street. I was really pleased with my stay and plan to return

Impressed from the moment I arrived at 38+h floor hotel lobby. Fantastic view at lobby over People's Park and the surrounding. The location is superbs, within walking distance to the happening Nanjing Road. My room was at 52nd floor, l was upgraded to a spacious corner room with the jaw-dropping view Shanghai city.

The room was clean and complete with all luxury hotel necessities. The bed and pillows were top notch. Everything offered in the room and hotel is simply perfect ! Breakfast and lunch were great, lots of varieties and quality food.

l attended a 2-day meeting in the hotel at 5th floor. The only downside is the hassle of changing lifts between room-lobby-meeting room-ground floor. Although there is lift directly access to meeting room from guest room, waiting time is long as there are only 2 lifts serve the purpose

I waited a while before posting a review on Trip Advisor. JW Marriott Tomorrow Square is a wonderful hotel. I've been living in the executive apartments for a little over two months and I have to say I love it here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I was also here for my birthday and the JW made t even more special for me by surprising me with a birthday card and cake when I arrived from work. I was so surprised the personnel in the apartment lobby greeted me on my special day. As far as the amenities go, the gym is an A+, the monthly spa package is to die for and last the room service is quite good. Also cigar connoisseur will love the JW cigar lounge. They spare no expense on top quality cuban cigars. I am a fan of modern hotel living and you will love it here.

Great service, great food, great location, great room. Everything about this hotel was terrific and made the trip very enjoyable. Very clean and exquisite accommodations. Location was good from a sightseeing perspective and walking distance from many things. The trains were easy to navigate once you had directions too.

The reviews say it all. It's a great hotel with great service in a great location. Taking a separate elevators to go from you room to your lobby and lobby to the ground floor sounds like it could be annoying, but it wasn't a problem and having a lobby on the 38th floor in itself was kinda cool.

The location, People's Square, is about a 10 min walk to the Bund down East Nanjing Road. If you take the metro, the exits at People's Square are numbered. Look for sign that direct you towards exit 11 since that's the closest to the JW. It's a two minute walk from there. In case exit 11 is closed, exits 9 or 10 are only a few feet further down.

The executive lounge was very nice with an excellent selection of food and drinks. Elites had the option of breakfast in the lounge or the restaurant. Lounge had the same offerings, but the selection in the restaurant was much larger. Go with the restaurant if you're not in a rush, you won't be disappointed.

The JWM is located at the end of Nanjing Rd about a 10 min walk from the Bund. It caters to business travellers. The lobby is on the 38th floor and the elevators are slow, but otherwise it's a great place to stay. The desk staff is excellent and breakfast buffet plentiful and Siem, the FB manager, will make sure your meal is perfect. Step out of the hotel for plenty of shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Bund.

The lounge is a great place to hang out between outings. Fantastic location. When in the lounge ask to see the library. It's another level up and if you're lucky someone (who knows) may open the hidden door to an outside "patio." Top notch hotel.

Room Tip: Executive Lounge level rooms. Hotel Lobby on the 38th floor of the building.
