“What a view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2013

Located in Jin Mao tower, the location and view are super. Last time I was in Shanghai, I stayed at the Park Hyatt next door. This hotel was cheaper, which is what I wanted to try it this go around, and you will not be disappointed. In addition to the view, and having a room on the 87th floor, the Spa/work out facilities are excellent. I also liked the service at the Grand Club, so try to get that level if an option.

I have been traveling to Shanghai for many years now, this was my first stay at the Grand Hyatt in the Jin Mao Tower. To my surprise I was totally inpressed with all facets of this hotel. The food, staff, room, gym, spa, and restaurants were all first class and four-five stars. I had a room on the 85th floor which was large and had views that were spectacular. The newest mega skycraper, the (Shanghai Tower). was directly across from my room. Note It will be completed in 2014 and will become the 2nd tallest building in the world. What more can I say, a great stay at one of the best hotel in Shanghai. Thanks, the welcoming staff!

Room Tip: PIck one of the 85 floor, what a wonderful view

Only stayed for 1 night, arriving late afternoon and leaving next morning. Very attentive service, rooms of high standard and a spectacular building and views. Breakfast was fairly standard and I was hoping for something a bit more impressive.
I would stay again.

The Hotel is what you can expect from a Grand Hyatt. The standing, quality, service, etc. is there. Rooms are nice, nothing original but comfortable. If you choose a room facing the river, then it is worth sleeping without closing the curtains ! The view is just amazing...If you don't have this chance, you can go to the roof bar, get a cocktail (European price) and enjoy the view. The Chinese restaurant did serve the best Peking duck we had in town. Unfortunately, I did forget the address in the walking area where we had the worst one of my life...

From the reception at the airport , to the lady waiting for you at the ground floor , it's already a visiting card to this wonderful hotel , the highest tower I've ever been to .
I always chose top floor rooms , with a fantastic view of the skyline , of the river and of the TV tower nearby . Perfect location , in the centre of Pudong , with plenty of possibility for an evening walk in total security .

Room Tip: when possible , chose a top floor room

Really nothing to fault this hotel. The service is very good, the building stunning, the views from the room (cloud permitting) are wonderful, the room is big and very comfortable and the food is excellent. Everywhere is absolutely spotlessly clean. The bar on the 87th floor (Cloud 9) is cool, and although it was a bit expensive it was not overpriced given its location. The meeting facilities were very good, and everything we needed was provided very quickly. The only niggle was that wifi access, while reliable and free, was very slow. I did purchase the faster access for a small fee for one day, but this was even slower so don't bother to buy this.

Highly recommended.

The hotel is located in Pudong prime area, overlooking Huangpu River. You won't miss this place as the hotel is inside Jin Mao Tower (金茂大厦) and is on on the highest hotel in the world occupying level 53 to 87. The lobby itself is in level 54.
The room is big enough with standard Hyatt fitting in the room. The service is good with frequent visit by the housekeeper to clean your room. The breakfast venue is on the same floor with the lobby. Food selection is good and satisfy my need as a Muslim traveller.
Please take note to get your Chinese friend to write down any address or hotel name in Chinese characters as most the cab drivers will not understand even a simple English.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are perpendicular to each other, there are good chance that your room window will...
