“Breathtaking views”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

This hotel is a must if you're staying in Pudong: the views on the newly built Shanghai Tower as well as the world financial center and other huge skyscrapers are simply stunning. I had booked a club room with river view on 71st floor. High quality furnishings, a soft bed and an impeccable marble bathroom. Access to the club level and all business facilities were a plus for a fast-paced business trip. The business center employees were very helpful in fulfilling my various requests. Breakfast buffet was according to expectations for such a hotel, not more, not less. The bars and restaurants are quite expensive, but the service always excellent, food being ok for this class of hotel. All in all a good place to stay.

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel in the past 8 years. The first time in 2006 they "upgraded" my room at an additional cost of course, with no other room for me to chose at the rate I booked. Funny enough, same thing happened last week which demonstrates it is a standard practice for this hotel. The hotel is in the financial district. The facilities are beautiful. There are multiple restaurants which serve great food at a great price and the river and other things are close by. Things are clean. My hang up is really with the room rate and the service at the desk. Everything is overpriced more than other hotels that are just as nice in the area.

Stayed at the hotel for 7 nights end of Feb beginning of March. Lucky to have a deluxe corner room on the 63rd floor which was club level, giving us access to the club lounge for breakfast daily and free alcoholic drinks with dim sum nightly 5pm to 8pm. Breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon etc and even a decent cup of tea. For the more adventurous Shanghainese won ton noodle soup also served for breakfast was very nice.
Where do I begin? Room fantastic with floor to ceiling windows, large king size bed, beautiful furnishings and fabulous bathroom. Hotel service impressive from front desk, bar and restaurant staff and concierge .Visited Cloud 9 on 83rd floor which was impressive with great cocktails. I did not think the service charge in Cloud 9 was necessary. Restaurants expensive but good with level of service you would expect at a hotel of this calibre. We ate at the Grand Cafe had the buffet which we enjoyed. Ate at the Grill which was good but very expensive and we had a bottle of red wine which we discovered was an outrageous £50. Ate at the cucina Italian which was good. Nice lounge with music on the 53rd (or 54th) difficult to remember all the floors!
Nice piano bar.
Hotel great location with easy access to IFC and Superbrand Mall via walkways. Opposite the Financial Centre which is well worth a visit to the top.
Swimming pool and spa on 57th floor was beautiful. We had a massage and some other treatments which were amazing. Only complaint about the pool area was that the whirlpools were separate for men and women and it would have been nice to have the whirlpool in the pool area so that my husband and I could have gone in together.
Not really complaining though as this hotel is really fantastic and I did not want to leave! View looking up from lounge is spectacular.

Room Tip: If you can get a room on club level then go for it. Having breakfast included and drinks and dim su...

This is a fantastic place to stay in Shanghai. The room was very spacious, great shower/view and keptclean/tidy by the good staff. Swimming at the 25m pool on level 57 was amazing. The guest services manager was extremely helpful with any query. Some on the people I was traveling had a few complaints about some of the non Chinese meals they had from room service but the chinese selection that i has were nice and spicy.

I'm surprised this hotel isn't number room. It is exquisitely breathtaking. You check in on the 87th floor and then the rooms are above and below. The pool has amazing views and is always seemingly empty. The location can't be beat. My only complaint is that the taxis have no interest for some reason in servicing guests here. Just use uber and you will be fine

The hotel is very well located in Pudong and has a commanding view of Pearl Tower and the Bund. Rooms are well laid out and furnished. A new useful feature was the wardrobe accessible from two sides. The service lives upto the high standards of the Grand Hyatt brand. The Conference facilities were very satisfactory. The vegetarian spread, both for breakfast and lunch, could be improved upon.
