First, the location: 5 minutes walk from People's Square, 20 minutes walk from the Bund and the French Concession. The hotel itself is really nice, from the outside it looks like an early 20th century brick building, the inside feels really new and fresh. The rooms are spacious and comfortables. Service is good and attentive (we spotted a mosquito in the room, called housekeeping and they immediately brought a diffuser). The front desk people spoke mostly good English.
If I really had to find some negatives I would say that the (free) wifi is a bit slow, that the channel selection for the TV is limited (almost no international channels). But these are really minor issues. Overall a very good value for money at the heart of Shanghai.More
