“Great business hotel in Pudong”

I have been staying at the Intercontinental Shanghai Pudong for nearly 10 years now and the service has always been exceptional. I always book a club level room and the club floor staff are exceptional and greet me by name. The choices on the evening happy hour buffet are very good and flavorful and the service staff very attentive. The rooms are very comfortable with wonderful bedding and most importantly, a comfortable pillow. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Shanghai.

stayed 2 nights 3 days with my wife on a Business trip to shanghai . The foyer / reception area when you enter has a majestic wow factor . The check in was prompt and efficient and as a GOLD member was upgraded to suite without asking . The suite with bedroom and sitting room was excellent and had all amenities a traveler would need .

The breakfast lounge is awesome with varieties to cater for all taste .

The concierge service was excellent . I had a day to spare and wanted to visit the city . Meron / melvin at the concierge desk promptly gave us all the locations on the Hotel tourist map. He highlighted the Metros stations and the place to visit with walking distances between locations situated in the same area. The century avenue station is around 10 mins walk from the hotel.

Visited the BUND (wai tai) shopping area ( which is also opposite the hotel by walking ) , Shangha old city , shanghai world trade center , Oriental pearl tower Yuageden gardens and shanghai circus all in One day using the METRO .

Also visit the the fastest train in the world between 300 and 400 kph at MAGLEV station , this can be done as a separate trip or take a taxi to the station and catch the Maglev to reach the airport in 8 mins.

The manager Vens Yan escorted us outside and got us a taxi to take us to the airport.

The best IHG property i have stayed in my trip in china , we were treated like royalty . definitely a 6 star hotel with all the conveniences for both business and leisure.
Highly recommended.

I stayed for 6 nights during a business trip to Shanghai and it was a good choice. My room on the 16th floor was large, fantastic shower and comfy bed. The choice at breakfast was vast and provided a range of cuisines to suit different nationalities. I tried the buffet one night and again there was a good choice. The bar food was also very good.
The hotel is only a few minutes walk to the nearest Metro station and only a few stops from The Bund and all Shanghai's skyscrapers so very easy to explore.
Hotel staff spoke English and were helpful. All round an excellent choice and I would definitely stay here again

Intercontinental properties set a high standard, and the Shanghai PuDong location’s is even a bit higher. This visit I was put in room 1001, a spacious suite with two bathrooms, two huge TVs, a very nice work desk, couch, coffee table, and of course the bed. The workspace had thoughtful items like stapler and paper clips.
Everything was in top condition and spotlessly clean. The staff were ready for anything.
Breakfast – a huge selection and several stations where eggs were prepared, noodles cooked, steaks cooked, on and on. Crank up your willpower before entering.
The location is in the heart of PuDong near their Times Square. Most guests are not likely to want the metro, but a ten- minute walk brings you to the Century station, where several lines intersect, making quick work of getting anywhere if the traffic is acting up. Getting to PuDong airport is very convenient on this side of Shanghai as you have already on the correct side of the Huangpu river. The Maglev station is a 15-min cab ride away and then the Maglev whisks you to PuDong airport in under 15 minutes. Getting to Hongqiao airport or the high speed train station next to it requires 40 – 60 min in a cab, about the same on Line 2 of the Metro.
Great property.

Well appointed rooms and facilities. Great for business or if you are on holiday.
Staff are friendly and helpful. If you are getting a taxi, ask the concierge to assist as you will be turned away if you approach the taxis in Shanghai, especially the red taxis. Stay clear of those as they tend to rip tourists off, even sometimes locals I hear! Shame on them!

Would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Ask for a room away from the busy traffic. Bit like New York City with the honking that goes on in the early hours of the morning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the busy roads!

Great hotel: modern, spacious and well equipped rooms. The breakfast is varied, well served and well matched the western taste. You can get a free Wi-Fi access – just joint the hotel membership (it is free). TV stations include many international channels.
You can found many western restaurants, pizza houses (I recommended the nearby Papa Johns Pizza house) and coffee shops around. The nearest train station (that I found) is a ~10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. You can use a Taxi for every trip in reasonable fee. I recommended presenting the name of the hotel and the destination in Chinese – this will resolve many confusions. To summary: highly recommended hotel.

It was more than 6 months since my last stay and I really felt welcome and came back the following week again.

They made me feel so welcome and "important" where I was personally received by 2 different senior executive (jane chen & shirley yuan) during my last 2 stays. The reception is still as efficient as before, room is excellent, horizon lounge is as comfortable as before and they still remembered me and my favorite drink.

I will come back more for sure.
